An autopsy was performed, but more tests are needed to determine the cause of Mac Miller's death.
Sarah Ardalani, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County coroner, said Monday that investigators had released the body to the family, but that a cause would not be announced until the results of the toxicological tests that may take weeks or months are known.
Meanwhile, the New York City Attorney's office confirms to TMZ that prosecutors will officially leave pending DUI charges against the rapper who was found dead at his home in Studio City last week.

Miller was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday to be tried in his DUI case due to a solo accident in May.
He was arrested after crashing his Mercedes G-Wagon on a utility pole in the San Fernando Valley. He left the scene but then was followed by the police to his house.
According to TMZ, the hearing was removed from the file and the documentation will be filed to dismiss the charges.

Paramedics were called to Miller's house around noon Friday where they found that the 26-year-old was not responding to an apparent drug overdose.
He had had a cardiac arrest in a bedroom and the paramedics could not revive him, pronouncing him dead at the scene.
In footage shared by one of Miller's fans who emerged on Saturday, the rapper could see himself in a good mood the night before his death while playing the keyboard while broadcasting live on Instagram to the delight of his followers.
It was too soon: A fan shared footage on Saturday of a video posted by Miller on Thursday night. He was found homeless at home around noon on Friday and pronounced dead by paramedics.
Meanwhile, his ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande posted a black and white photo of Miller on his Instagram on Saturday.
She did not comment on the caption.
The two had left for two years before Grande gave time to the relationship in May.
