The father of the pregnant reality star found dead in the Bronx after a night out last month said he believes the bag of cocaine found at his side was "planted" in his body.
Film director Doug McHenry, 66, also attacked the mysterious man with whom he was last seen, and told DailyMailTV: "The least you could have done is call 911."
"I would have given my daughter a shot, an opportunity, then either you were so scared that you did not even think about it, or more than likely, it was so calculated that you did not give her shit, and that's what really bothers me."
From the dust found next to her body, she added: "If she used it for nothing, it would most likely be an infrequent party.
I do not know, but it had never been a problem with her. I did not see any of the signs, and I was in regular contact with her.
Details about the death of Lyric McHenry (pictured right from right with her mother Jennifer, her sister Maya and her father Doug) remain unclear almost a month after they found her unconscious on the street in the Bronx with cocaine
Lyric McHenry, who was 26, was found unconscious in a pink dress next to the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx district of New York on August 14.
She had spent the previous night celebrating her birthday in a series of elegant Manhattan bars with friends, including Magic Johnson's son, EJ, and her sister Maya.
The last time they saw her friends was when she left the Dream Hotel with a "mysterious man" who had come to meet her but could not enter.
Lyric's father, Doug McHenry, has spoken of his anguish over the death of his daughter and says he believes that the drugs were planted in his body
Now he is a person of interest in the case, according to the NYPD, who last week released security images that show the moment he left with the star pregnant with reality in the hope of finding him.
McHenry says he's convinced the cops will find him. "I have no doubt they will find them," he told DailyMailTV.
I'm not Liam Neeson, I'm not going over there. But I have a lot of faith in the NYPD, and I know they will not rest until we get to the end of this story. "
The 66-year-old man spoke to DailyMailTV in Los Angeles, California, where Lyric was buried at a ceremony at Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills on Sept. 6.
He said his family was devastated by the tragedy, but they are trying to stay together to help the police in the investigation.
"When the phone calls stop, and those who have gone well leave, and you are facing four walls, looking at photos of your daughter, you realize that you will never hear her voice again," he said.
& # 39; She had the sweetest voice. She called me daddy. Nobody called me dad like she did. There is so much purpose about death, and that is when it is really difficult.
"It was kind of spiritual, when I brought her back from New York, you know, when you look at her, she's not really there, her shell is there, but she's not there.
"I remember that I just fell to my knees and cried because I was so full of emotion." I knew that, wherever I had made the transition, she was still her.
McHenry, a film producer in Los Angeles, says the family was devastated by the tragedy but are trying to stay together to help the police in the investigation
The 26-year-old had a promising future after graduating from Stanford University and was following in her father's footsteps to become a film producer
"But I felt deeply grateful and humbly fortunate to have had the opportunity to be a father, it was a privilege to be his father."
Like McHenry, a notable film producer, Lyric had hoped to build a career in film and recently moved to Los Angeles from New York to move on.
After graduating from Stanford University, she moved to New York, where she became a producer and star of her close friend EJ Johnson & # 39; s E! reality show EJNYC.
According to her father, Lyric showed signs of promise from an early age and says she loved visiting LA galleries and museums as a child.
"It's a wonderful show when a child, say six or seven years old, who wants to scream and play, is impressed with these paintings: Picasso, the Impressionists, the huge murals of Latin artists," he said.
& # 39; His eyes would simply open, and she would shut up and be lost in these paintings. It was like seeing this flower really grow in gratitude.
"I think it's those moments, walking through those corridors, which are among my best wishes."
But even though the two remained close even after moving to New York, she says the discovery that she had been pregnant was a shock, as well as discovering that she had dabbled in drugs.
A doctor who examined Lyric's body discovered that she was between 15 and 20 weeks pregnant, although she did not show up. McHenry believes that even Lyric did not know.
"There are three people that Lyric trusts all in. My daughter Maya, EJ and another person, none of whom had any idea, which means that Lyric had no idea," he told DailyMailTV.
Lyric appeared in E! EJNYC reality show, along with his best friend EJ Johnson (pictured) the son of NBA star Magic Johnson. The two friends grew up together in Los Angeles
The McHenry and Johnsons families (pictured during Lyric's birthday celebration last year) were close friends. In a poignant tweet last week, Magic Johnson described Lyric as a "daughter" and confirmed that she had been buried
"She did not act as if she was pregnant and, more importantly, did not show up." People do not understand that a young woman who has never been pregnant before may not understand that she is pregnant.
Lyric's body was discovered on the morning of August 14 unconscious with a bag of dust by his side and died that same day in the hospital.
Although McHenry believes that the bag of dust was planted & # 39; at her side, Lyric's friends told DailyMail.com that she was a habitual user of cocaine.
Police have also said they suspect he died of a drug overdose, although there is still a toxicology report pending.
His friends told DailyMail.com that he had recently started dating a man from the Bronx, whom they considered a drug dealer.
"I do not know if he was his usual distributor or what the business is." Because nobody knows much about him more than the fact that she had slept with him a few times, "said the friend.
& # 39; Unfortunately, she used regularly. And recently, many people have been dying from the mixture of coke with "I do not know what," said the friend.
I worry that this is what could have happened to her. Maybe he was full of shit. If she was using cocaine regularly, it's possible that she already had irregular periods, and maybe that's why she would not know she was pregnant. "
Although there were bruises on the knees, no other injuries were seen, and a medical examination showed that she had not been raped.
Lyric had kept silent about his relationship with the Bronx man, and only his old housemate, Rob Franklin, had met him, his friends said.
The only description Franklin could give was that the suspected merchant was a "great black man."
At first, the friends thought that this could be the man caught in a security video that left a club in Manhattan with Lyric around 2 in the night of his disappearance.
But after watching the tape, Franklin told his friends that he was not the same person.
In an interview with American Urban Radio Network, Lyric's sister, Maya, revealed the details of their last hours together at the Manhattan club.
Lyric had posted photos on social media documenting his birthday celebration hours before he died
The friends saw her for the last time leaving the Dream Hotel in lower Manhattan with a "mysterious man" who had come to meet her there but could not enter.
"We were excited to be together, because my sister lived in Los Angeles and I live in New York," said Maya.
"I had planned something for her at the Dream Hotel, on the rooftop.
"We were having the best time, and she was wearing this beautiful pink dress that my mother had given to me and my sister, I also wore my mother's Gucci shoes, which were also pink," said the mourning sister.
"The last thing my sister told me was that she placed my friend's cheek and cheek next to her cheeks and said, 'I love you.'
Maya described the heartbreaking moment when she discovered that Lyric had disappeared.
"Later he went to the dance floor and was dancing with other friends," he said. "The last time I checked it, it was not there anymore."
According to her friends, Lyric received a call from a man trying to join her in Dream. She went down to join him, but the gorilla denied her entry, so she left in a car with him.
A source close to the investigation said the man, whose name was & # 39; Dave & # 39; In the Lyric contact app on her phone, she was the last person to call her before finding her body.
"I called her and she was not answering, the phone was dead, so I could not talk to her," Maya said. "We all send text messages saying" where are you? What's going on? "
"We were all very worried, because we were like, why would Lyric leave his own birthday celebration? It just did not make sense, it did not fit.
Lyric celebrated his 26th birthday in lower Manhattan and his final destination was Dream Downtown in Chelsea. She was discovered hours later in the Bronx
It was discovered in a pink dress with a rise next to the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx on August 14. The authorities said she was alive when they found her, but then she died in the hospital.
"We assumed that maybe she was spending the night at a friend's house because she never came home … In fact, we said a prayer for her that night, asking God to make sure we kept her safe, because we were worried."
The images recorded by a security camera outside of Dream at 2.22 a.m. They captured the face and outfit of the man Lyric had left.
A friend of Lyric told DailyMail.com that the man frequented Dream nightclub. The guy was a lot to Dream, but he did not come back since the night Lyric died, "said the friend.
"Maya knew him, or at least he had known him before, and he knew him as" Dave "… I think this guy is also a trafficker, I do not think he was a true friend".
The police now try to track him down in an attempt to find out what happened to Lyric.
McHenry said he is allowing them to get on with the job as they try to support their ex-wife Jennifer and their youngest daughter while they come to an agreement with Lyric's death.
"People call and say:" I'm sorry, I found out about your daughter, "he said." There are ceremonies, there's s *** to go through.
"But that stops, the world continues." And you still have this pain, because it will never go away.
