Lynn Ban, a famous jewelry designer and star of the Netflix show Bling Empire: New York, died at age 52, weeks after a skiing accident.
His son Sebastian announced the news on Instagram Wednesday morning, less than a month after the reality TV star underwent emergency brain surgery for his injuries.
Sebastian wrote: ‘To my mother’s followers: My mother passed away on Monday.
‘I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post to share the news with the people who supported her. Many of you followed my mother but never had the opportunity to meet or meet her in person.’
His son continued the lengthy title by describing the woman who was the Singapore native.
Sebastian said: ‘I would like to take the opportunity to share who my mother really was. She was and always will be my best friend, the best mother to me and someone who cares about everyone.
She always had a smile on her face even when times were difficult during her recovery process. She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know.

The Netflix star took to Instagram on Dec. 30, 2024, to detail the terrifying incident, adding that she felt “grateful and blessed” after her ordeal.
‘She was the funniest, coolest mom I could ever ask for. She took care of me, my dad and our entire family throughout her life. “Although she may be gone, I will do everything I can to ensure that she is never forgotten and that her life is celebrated as it deserves to be.”
Sebastian concluded the caption with a personal memo to his late mother.
He wrote: “As a final message to my mom, I would just like to say that I will miss you forever and to end with something she always told me: ‘I love you more than life itself,’ mom.”
In the post, Sebastian shared a gallery of snaps of himself with his mother over the years.
There were also cute snaps with Lynn’s husband and Sebastian’s dad, Jett Kain.
The comments section was filled with many celebrities, including Rihanna, sending their condolences and some even sending personal messages to Sebastian.
Rihanna, 36, wrote: ‘2025 is shaking me right now! This is too much!!! Lynn, you will always be our fairy godmother! I love you forever and ever! I can’t believe I’m writing this in a comments section! (single tear and heartbreak emojis) Thank you for all the joy you brought us!’

A few weeks ago, Lynn revealed that she was forced to undergo emergency brain surgery on Christmas Eve after suffering a horrific skiing accident.
The Netflix star took to Instagram on Dec. 30, 2024, to detail the terrifying incident, adding that she felt “grateful and blessed” to be able to see in the new year after her ordeal.
The jewelry designer explained that she was on vacation in Aspen, Colorado, when the incident occurred, as she shares images of the trip and photographs of her shaved head and post-surgery scar.
“In the blink of an eye…life can change,” the TV personality wrote in a caption.
‘On Christmas Eve, on a beautiful sunny day in Aspen, while on vacation with my family, I was in a skiing accident that would change my life.’
She continued: ‘At the top of the mountain I grabbed a point and stood face-planting. Luckily I always wear a helmet. At the time it didn’t seem so bad and I was able to ski to the bottom.

This came weeks after Lynn (seen January 2023) revealed she was forced to undergo emergency brain surgery on Christmas Eve after suffering a horrific skiing accident.

The star posted photos of herself in her hospital bed after surgery as she explained how a fall while skiing gave her a disturbing headache.

It was later discovered that she had a brain hemorrhage and needed to be airlifted to the trauma hospital for an emergency craniotomy.
‘Out of an abundance of caution, I wanted ski patrol to check me for a concussion. “They evaluated me and I was acquitted.”
However, something still felt off when the star added: “I had a bit of a headache, but I thought after lunch everything would be fine and I could ski again.”
‘The paramedic suggested I go to hospital for a scan. This saved my life.’
Lynn then explained: ‘I went in a taxi with Jett and within 30 minutes they told us I had a brain bleed and they needed to fly me to the trauma hospital.
“The last thing I remember was being intubated and waking up after an emergency craniotomy with (her husband) Jett (Kain) by my side.”
The TV star shared her gratitude to those who saved her life, adding: “There is a long road of recovery ahead, but I am a survivor and I am grateful to the ski patrol, the amazing team of doctors and nurses and the (emoji from the heart) and support my family and friends.
‘GOD IS GOOD. Grateful and blessed to see the new year.’
Friends and fans of the star immediately flooded the comments section with well wishes for the star and her family.

Lynn is not the only Bling Empire star to pass away, as Anna Shay died at age 62 in June 2023 following a stroke.
The debut season of Bling Empire was released in January 2021 and the second installment arrived in May 2022 as it focused on the Los Angeles area.
The third season, starring Lynn and set in New York, premiered in October 2022.

Lynn is not the only Bling Empire star to pass away, as Anna Shay died at age 62 in June 2023 following a stroke.

The debut season of Bling Empire launched in January 2021 before the final season, which moved to New York and starred Lynn, aired in 2022.

Lynn was the owner of Lynn Ban Jewelry, as her designs have been worn by the likes of Rihanna, Beyonce, Madonna, Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B, and many other celebrities.

Lynn was the owner of Lynn Ban Jewelry, as her designs have been worn by the likes of Rihanna, Beyonce, Madonna, Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B, and many other celebrities.
She had over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry, as the Singapore native lived and worked in New York, London and Paris.
Her work has also appeared in Vogue and its international editions, as well as ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, W Magazine and V Magazine.
