Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been impressive since joining Manchester United in the summer
Luke Shaw believes the right back deserves to be crowned as the club’s player of the season
“I can’t look past Aaron Wan-Bissaka. For me, he was the most consistent player this season, ”he said official club website.
“When you look back at all the games we’ve played, I can only remember one mistake, which is the penalty at Watford, and that was literally it.
“He was a solid eight in ten in every other game he played, never put one foot wrong, put his foot in the right position every time and for me he’s the best one-on-one defender in the world.
He described his teammate as super and said he is the best one-on-one defender in the world
“No one can pass him, he really improved that side of his game and his attacking side.
“You see that Azza is learning every day and also wants to learn more. He was a great signing for us so I must have him there. ‘
There was a level of expectation on Wan-Bissaka’s shoulders after his hefty transfer fee, but he’s become a fixture on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side with 26 appearances in the Premier League and 34 in all competitions.
The defender also chose Marcus Rashford as a contender for the individual award
Shaw also chose Marcus Rashford as a candidate for United’s play of the year award, claiming that the striker would have had a chance to win the award throughout the league if he had stayed fit all season.
“If Marcus Rashford had been fit throughout the campaign and hadn’t sustained his injury, I think he would have won without a doubt,” added Shaw.
“Rashy would push across the league for the best player of the season because he was so good.
“He was sometimes on fire and gave the whole team a huge boost. It was the best and most confident I’ve seen him, so he’s definitely a contender. ‘
