Luis Enrique has revealed that he still hopes Kylian Mbappé will change his mind and stay at Paris Saint-Germain this summer rather than move to Real Madrid.

The star striker has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu after telling PSG in February that he would leave the club when his contract expired at the end of June.

Mbappe is set to reveal his next club ahead of Euro 2024, with Real Madrid expected to be his destination.

However, Enrique stressed that nothing is set in stone and that it is still possible for Mbappé to stay at PSG.

Enrique told Prime Video: “I still hope Kylian changes his mind.” He hasn’t said anything yet. He can still change his mind.

Enrique believes that Mbappé could stay despite being strongly linked to Real Madrid

‘Let’s imagine that we win four titles this season and Kylian makes his choice at the last moment and decides that his place is in Paris. Why not?’

During his time at PSG, Mbappé scored 250 goals in 297 appearances in all competitions.

Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, Mbappé’s teammate in France, recently appeared to confirm that the striker will join him at the Spanish club.

Speaking to Telefoot, Tchouameni stated: “The Spanish are aware of the player Kylian is, although when they see him every day they will realize the greatness of the player.”

Mbappé responded to the comment by joking that fans in Spain could see him play frequently when PSG face Real Sociedad in the Champions League round of 16 and will face Barcelona in the quarterfinals, with Atlético de Madrid potentially waiting in the semi-finals. finals.

Mbappé said: “Well, I played against Real Sociedad (in the round of 16), we played against Barcelona in the quarter-finals and, if we go through, maybe against Atlético in the semi-finals.”

“So yes, the Spanish will see me a little more.”

Real have reportedly reached an agreement with Mbappe to sign him on a free transfer with a signing-on fee of £85.5m.

Mail Sport previously reported that Madrid are set to make Mbappe their highest earner, which would surpass the £10.3m per season they pay Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.

Mbappé is expected to join Real Madrid when his contract with PSG expires this summer.
