Liverpool star Luis Diaz has made a desperate plea to Mohamed Salah in a bid to convince him to stay at the Reds.
Salah is widely regarded as one of Liverpool’s greatest players of the modern era, scoring 214 goals in 352 appearances for the club, most recently against arch-rivals Manchester United at the weekend.
But the striker raised eyebrows after the game when he hinted that the current season would be his last with the club, clarifying that his contract expires soon and he is not yet in negotiations for a new deal.
Diaz himself scored two goals in the match, both thanks to assists from the Egyptian. However, the two stars may have few more games left to play together.
Diaz, who is now with Colombia, has opened up about how it would feel to lose Salah, who could leave the club for free next summer if he does not sign a new contract.

The Reds striker raised eyebrows at the weekend when he said he is currently in his “final year” at Liverpool.
He clarified that his current contract expires at the end of the season and no negotiations have taken place.
“It would be difficult for us,” Diaz said. Telemundo“It would be difficult for Liverpool.
‘It’s going to hurt us a lot. He still has a year to think about it, it’s not easy. He always gives his best.
“He has done it from the beginning. It would be very hard to lose a key player like him. It is his decision and we respect it, but I hope he doesn’t leave.”
Salah told Sky Sports at Old Trafford on Sunday: “I was coming into the game and I said: ‘Look, it could be the last time (at Old Trafford).'”
“Nobody from the club has spoken to me about contracts yet. It’s not my business, it’s the club’s business, but we’ll see.”
“As you know, it’s my last year at the club. I just want to enjoy it. I don’t want to think about it (the contract). I feel free to play football and we’ll see what happens next year.”
The Egyptian joined the club from Roma for £34m in 2017 and has gone on to win the Champions League, Premier League and other honours on Merseyside.
He is one of three key Liverpool players whose contracts expire next summer, and no deals have been finalised with any of them.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, like Salah, have less than a year left on their contracts and Reds fans are starting to get nervous about their futures.

Salah has scored 214 goals in 352 appearances for Liverpool since joining from Roma in 2017
Diaz, meanwhile, joined the club for £50m just over two years ago and has scored 27 goals in 101 appearances since.
He had struggled for consistency under Jurgen Klopp but has so far played a vital role for Arne Slot, starting all three Premier League games this season and scoring three goals.
