Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale celebrated three years of sobriety in a touching Instagram post she uploaded on Thursday.
The 35-year-old announced that she had stopped drinking on Valentine’s Day 2023 and revealed that she celebrated the one-year anniversary of the occasion the previous month.
Now he has uploaded a heartfelt message about how his life has evolved since he made the decision to get on the bandwagon.
Lucy, who gave up alcohol the day after New Year 2022, wrote: ‘damn. 3 years ago today I began my journey to remember who I am.’
She reflected on the years that had passed and wrote, “Since then, I have experienced moments that can only be described as pure miracles and magic.”
The Memphis-born actress added: “I am deeply grateful every day, for the people who have been guiding lights, for a power greater than me who loves me unconditionally, and for my own perseverance in not giving up.”

The post comes three months after Lucy revealed that achieving sobriety “took me many, many, many years, many relapses, many dark moments, many of them falling on my face quite literally, but also figuratively, to discover what was working in my life, finding out why I was drinking, because eliminating alcohol is only part of it,” via People.
‘Since I was very little I always felt alone and misunderstood. Then, as a teenager, I encountered alcohol, which of course shut down my brain. And it worked for me for a while, until it got really dark,” he recalled.
During her struggle with drinking, her work on Pretty Little Liars acted as a buoy, as “without my career and without that creative outlet, I don’t know if I would have made it.” I think that show and my love for what I do was my true north star, it really gave me purpose and still gives me purpose.”
However, he noted that “I was constantly in this cycle of extreme depression and anxiety while having to show up for work and keep going.” And that ‘being active’ fueled my alcohol consumption even more… I was trapped in this cycle that I couldn’t get out of.’
Lucy announced her sobriety on Valentine’s Day 2023, writing, “While this journey has been largely private, tonight I felt compelled to let anyone who is struggling know that you are not alone and that you are loved.”
