Lucas Torreira has revealed that his days in an Arsenal shirt are over and he has no plans to finish the remainder of his contract in north London.
The Uruguayan midfielder was loaned to Italy at Fiorentina last season and although they are not looking for a permanent deal, Torreira has explained that his agent is negotiating with “many teams” about his departure from Arsenal.
Torreira increased his stock in 35 appearances for Fiorentina last season and it is Italy, or Spain where he previously spent on loan at Atlético Madrid that he would like to go to.

“We are in talks with many teams, but my representative is in charge, today I am enjoying my holiday,” Torreira said. El Telegrafo†
‘It was a long year with a lot of competition, and it was exhausting; I want to relax with my family. What I wanted was to stay with Fiorentina, but that didn’t work out for various reasons, so we’re looking for a new direction.’
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta continues to rebuild the Gunners to his image and Torreira is not in his plans despite being under contract for 2022-23.
When asked if even an olive branch was extended to him, Torreira dismissed any possibility that he would be suitable for Arsenal again.

“From the beginning they told me I didn’t have a place so I don’t want to stay either because I suffered a lot, it took me a lot to adapt and my idea is to go to Italy or Spain. †
It is believed Arsenal are seeking compensation of nearly £13million for Torreira, who joined the club from Sampdoria in 2018.
The 26-year-old added that he finds a return to Boca Juniors “very difficult” but said unequivocally he will not play for Arsenal again.
Arteta has already added Brazilian star Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira and goalkeeper Matt Turner.
Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus underwent a medical on Tuesday and he is expected to be the next arrival in a £45m deal.
