Lucas Moura and James Rodríguez received an extravagant welcome in front of the Sao Paulo fans, but it was the Hulk who stole the show.
The two former Premier League stars were unveiled in a shower of confetti after joining the Brazilian club, yet on the pitch there was little reason to celebrate.
The Hulk sent a sensational free kick into the squad just four minutes after it rained on the parade, with Moura making his debut and Rodríguez watching from the stands.
Sao Paulo eventually fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Hulk’s Atlético Mineiro and saw their winless streak stretch to five games.
Hulk has been sweeping his homeland for three seasons now after spells in Europe and Asia, and has scored 22 goals this season.
Lucas Moura was introduced to the Sao Paulo fans before kick-off but his debut ended in defeat

James Rodríguez also received a royal welcome, but watched the proceedings from the stands.
Moura hopes to imitate that kind of form after returning to Sao Paulo after 11 years away.
The former Champions League finalist left Tottenham this summer after a mixed spell in London.
Rodríguez did not participate against Atlético Mineiro because he is still improving his physical condition.
The Colombian midfielder was released by Olympiacos in April and has not played competitive football since.
