Private operator LRT-1 Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) continues to deliver on its promise to build the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 project on time, as it posted a significant overall progress rate of 88% in the first half of 2023.
Significant progress is attributed to completed design works, near-complete procurement processes, ongoing construction work, and testing and commissioning.
“We give credit to the hardworking men and women of LRMC and our contractors who are working tirelessly on the ground for this milestone LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 project. This is a testament that we at LRMC remain very much in step with our common goal. to enhance the traveler experience, especially in the southern part of Metro Manila with Phase 1 running through the cities of Pasay and Paranaque,” said LRMC President and CEO Juan F. Alfonso. .
The first phase covers 6.7 kilometers of the 11 km extension project with five stations that are currently in various stages of development with works in progress in civil and structural matters, structural steel, architecture, mechanics, electricity, plumbing and protection against fires.
The Redemptorist Station registered a completion rate of 59.8% as of June 2023
Redemptorist Station, which will be the next station after the existing southbound Baclaran Station, is 59.8% complete, highlighting progress in beginning roof sheet installation and escalator installation during the reporting period.

The MIA station recorded a 66.8% completion rate as of June 2023
The MIA Station, which will be the closest station to the airport, has registered 66.8% progress with the latest developments in the installation of roof plates and fire pumps.

Asia World Station recorded a 54.6% completion rate as of June 2023
The next one will be Asia World Station, which will connect to the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Interchange (PITX) for a more convenient transfer of travelers to other modes of transport going to their destinations, has registered a completion rate of 54.6% with highlights of steel walkway construction during the reporting period.

The Ninoy Aquino Station posted a 59.3% progress rate as of June 2023
For its part, the Ninoy Aquino Station registered 59.3% progress, highlighting the recent gutters, architectural works, installation of equipment in technical rooms, installation of latticework and Septic tank construction on the north side.

The Dr. Santos Station registered a completion rate of 71.1% as of June 2023
Finally, the Dr. Santos Station, which will be the last station of the first phase of the project, registered a progress rate of 71.1%, highlighting the installation of the fire pump, transformer and escalator in the reported period.
With this latest progress, LRMC remains optimistic to complete construction of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 project by Q4 2024.
