‘They were like ‘this is inappropriate”: Love Island’s Jess and Eve Gale reveal producers FORBID them from wearing sassy bikinis on show

Jess and Eve Gale have revealed that Love Island producers have banned them from wearing bikinis they found too sassy on the show.

The identical twins, 23, took part in the 2020 winter series and said bosses told them some of their outfits were too “inappropriate” to be shown on camera.

Speaking with the Daily starEve said, “I had that thong bikini I couldn’t wear and you couldn’t wear Ann Summers’s.

“I had a bikini and it was the real thong, like Oh Polly’s, it wasn’t nude, but it was a thong.”

Jess added: “I was wearing an Ann Summers copy and since it’s a family TV show they said ‘this is inappropriate’.”

Eve added that she had to change to one that covered more skin, saying, “Yeah, I had to change it to a little bit thicker.”

The twins also discussed what happens to the contestants after they are dumped from the villa.

The pair had very different experiences, with Eve going home early in the series while Jess made it to the finale.

Eve said she left the villa and was then taken to a room with producers who “debriefed” her and then sneaked her back in to see Jess one last time.

The beauty was then quarantined in South Africa without her phone and given her ‘private villa’ to stay in.

Eve said she then had to fly back from South Africa without her phone and didn’t get it until she landed in the UK.

It comes after Shaughna Phillips, who was also in the 2020 series, revealed that Love Island contestants rehearse their reconnection speeches with producers before filming.

The 26-year-old told how the dramatic reconnections around the fire pit take “hours” to film and islanders have to deliver their three-part speeches in front of the cameras.

Speaking on the Should I remove that? podcast, Shaughna explained, “Hours. hours. You normally don’t have to do it again…if it’s something very dramatic then of course they can’t really do it again.

“But if you’re like, ‘I’d like to be in a relationship with this person because…’, you do it in three parts. So you say that, and then you have a big pause, then you say the next bit, pause.’

Shaughna describes the segment’s rehearsed nature, adding, “You’re discussing it with a producer that night.

“So you kind of talk it through while eating. It’s actually produced. They ask you to chat and certain things. It’s a TV show, so I get it.”
