A TV insider told MailOnline: ‘Crew members will be flying to Mallorca on June 20 – and the series is expected to launch a week later.

In 2019, the first episode aired on June 3, meaning Love Island will run more than three weeks later this year due to current restrictions on travel abroad.

The delayed launch date will not affect the length of the series, as the show will run for another eight weeks.

Winter Love Island, on the other hand, has been ‘postponed indefinitely’ as bosses are putting all their energy into the summer series. ‘

Mallorca is at its hottest in July and August with temperatures of up to 30 degrees, providing the islanders with the perfect setting for a summer full of love.
