Louis Walsh has revealed the huge amount he was paid to appear on Celebrity Big Brother this year.
The music director, 71, took fourth place in the series after a controversial three weeks, in which he dropped many scathing opinions about famous names including Ronan Keating, Jedward and Simon Cowell.
After leaving the house, Louis opened up about his reasons for signing up for the show and revealed that ITV “convinced” him.
Talking with him Irish independent, said: ‘(ITV) convinced me. They said she was going to be safe; It was going to be fun and I would probably win it.
‘They said they really, really loved me. They kept insisting and I still said no, because I was afraid.

He insisted: ‘I don’t want to be a celebrity. It’s a fake world. I have no desires. I like music and going unnoticed.
However, Louis said he changed his mind when ITV offered him a staggering paycheck to join the show.
He confessed: “They paid me a lot of money,” before revealing they had shelled out nearly £850,000 to have him in the house.

Now that he has pocketed his hefty Celebrity Big Brother paycheck, Louis has ruled out any future appearances on a reality TV show.
He said: “You won’t find me in the jungle or on Dancing On Ice, or on Strictly, any of that.” From now on I will only do what I like.’
