Rachael Gunn’s Olympic legacy could see millions lose weight after an influencer revealed a home workout routine inspired by the Australian breakdancer.

Gunn, whose stage name is Raygun, became the story of the Paris Games over the weekend after her breakdancing performance went disastrously wrong during the opening women’s event in France.

Raygun scored zero points in his three performances and became an overnight sensation, with fans flooding social media to share their opinions on his unique moves, which included kangaroo hops and imitating a snake.

The 36-year-old university professor has kept a low profile since going viral and is currently on holiday with her coach and husband Samuel Free after making a surprise appearance at the closing ceremony.

But Raygun’s moves are sure to live on, with Facebook influencer Jezar RIches, who boasts more than 300,000 followers on the platform, hosting an at-home workout routine inspired by the academic.

The influencer performed the spray, before rolling on the floor in an effort to emulate Raygun’s moves.

“Good morning,” the message read. “I’m working out with Olympian Rachael Gunn.”

While Raygun’s performance continues to divide opinion in Australia, the 36-year-old is expected to earn millions from her Olympic campaign.

US-based marketing and public relations expert Max Markson said that while he remains a controversial figure on home soil, some of the world’s biggest international companies will be eager to cash in on his high profile.

“He has a huge brand,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

‘Her reputation in Australia is not very good, but she is famous all over the world.

‘I don’t think people in other countries are aware of how Australians feel about her.

‘I think Australian retailers will avoid it for that reason, but there will be someone in this country who will take advantage of it.

You will receive international offers from sports shoe brands such as Adidas or Puma, from food companies such as McDonald’s or KFC, from electric cars such as BYD, and you will get a telephone company such as Telstra, Optus or Vodafone.

“There will be other international companies that will also want it.”

Mr Markson said rising stars typically sign contracts with three to five companies.

Mr Markson said the current cost of a sponsorship deal for US brands such as McDonald’s or KFC is around $500,000.

If Raygun lands five contracts at that price, he would be on track to earn $2.5 million.

Mr Markson said his financial opportunities would also be broader than those in big-brand marketing.

“He has a PhD and genuine training, so he will also have speaking engagements. He also has an appeal for children,” he said.

‘People will also want her for television, there will be work for her on television in the next six months.’
