He plans to host the new season of Celebrity Apprentice Australia.

But Lord Alan Sugar reportedly had no idea who the ‘famous’ contestants on the reality show Channel Nine actually were.

According to women’s Day, the Australian stars were told to say repeatedly why they were famous because the British billionaire, 73, would often forget.

The contestants were instructed to “ repeat their celebrity because Lord Sugar and the [other] cast members they barely knew, ‘said a source.

It comes after Lord Sugar confessed that he had no idea who the contestants who would be appearing on Celebrity Apprentice’s season this year were before recording the show.

This year’s participants include fitness trainer Michelle Bridges, radio host Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli and The Veronicas’ Lisa and Jess Origliasso.

Others to appear include comedian Ross Noble, Shaynna Blaze from The Block, Martha Kalifatidis from Married At First Sight and singer Anthony Callea.

Actor Rob Shehadie, fashion designer Camilla Franks and professional surfer Alex Hayes Blaze have also joined the cast.

The businessman will act as the chief executive of Celebrity Apprentice Australia, having hosted the UK version since 2005.

Lord Sugar, who has appeared in 15 seasons of the hit show in the UK, will take out the celebrities with his signature catchphrase: ‘You’re fired’.

Celebrity Apprentice Australia will return to the screens in 2021 – for the first time in six years.
