Two men and two women have been arrested in connection with the discovery of two dismembered bodies on Long Island.

Steven Brown, 44, Jeffrey Mackey, 38, Amanda Wallace, 40, and Alexis Nieves, 33, were arrested for the grim discovery on Tuesday.

The four will appear in a Long Island court later Wednesday and face charges of obstruction of prosecution, tampering with evidence and concealment of a human corpse.

It is unclear whether police believe any of the four are directly involved in the deaths of the victims: an unnamed 53-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman from Yonkers.

The home, photographed Wednesday, housed three of the four people arrested: Steven Brown, Amanda Wallace and Jeffrey Mackey. The fourth person arrested, Amanda Nieves, was believed to be homeless.

Police sources said NBC New York that the brutal murders may have been related to a love triangle, but no further details have been shared.

DailyMail.com visited the Amityville home shared by Brown, Mackey and Wallace on Wednesday morning.

On a table inside the neglected property were half-eaten food, an empty bottle of Tito’s vodka and an open carton of Minute Maid strawberry-pear juice.

It was broken into on Monday and the unfinished food left inside suggests residents were taken by surprise.

The door of the house had also been knocked down.

Nieves, of no fixed address, is believed to have been homeless.

A neighbor who lives near the raided property says Wallace walked dogs and the house received visitors at all hours of the night.

The neighbor, who identified himself as Josh, said: “The only reason I knew her name is because someone stopped yesterday and said, ‘Do you know Amanda?’ “She used to walk my dogs for me.”

Josh said he had previously seen Amanda take her son to school.

When asked about the worrying activity at the property before the raid, Josh said: ”It’s hard to say.

‘The only thing I noticed, since I live a few doors away, is that there is activity there all night long. All the time. Just people stopping and staying there briefly.

Josh added: “I have trouble sleeping in the morning, so I know that at 4 in the morning there is a car in front of the house.”

‘It is awful. You know this happens in the world but you don’t believe it happens on your own street.

“Everything is shocking, it’s terrible.”

“I don’t think I’m naive, but who would expect something as terrible as this?”
