Logies: Sonia Kruger’s X-rated comment leaves Morning Show hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies stunned
Sonia Kruger took to The Morning Show on Wednesday to present her case for winning the TV Week Gold Logie ahead of awards night on Sunday.
The 57-year-old The Voice presenter is competing alongside Osher Günsberg, Hamish Blake, Leigh Sales, Mark Coles Smith and Shaun Micallef for the most prestigious award on Australian television.
But Sonia stunned The Morning Show hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies during a highly suggestive talk about her ‘Onya Sonia’ campaign to win the coveted award.
“(Onya Sonya) was better than my school’s campaign, which was ‘Sonia, Sonia, Leave me Onya,'” she said with a cheeky smile.
As the hosts burst out laughing, Kylie asked how that worked out for Sonia.

“It didn’t go down well,” she replied.
‘Onya Sonia, much more appropriate for 2023, I would have thought!’ Kylie joked and informed the audience that Sonia’s campaign has a lot of celebrity endorsements, with people like home and awayEmily Weir’s Emily Weir and Dancing With The Stars’ Phil Burton were recently spotted wearing T-shirts bearing the slogan.
Sonia then gave Larry a pair of briefs with ‘Onya Sonia’ printed on the back.

The Morning Show host pulled his boxer shorts over his pants and said he felt self-conscious because of the bulky microphone packs sticking out of his behind.
‘That’s not hernia squares, y’all, that’s a bug pack!’ he said.
‘Larry gave me ass!’ said Sonia with a giggle, who suggested that Larry should wear Onya Sonia merchandise on the red carpet on Sunday.
“But make sure they’re over the top (of the pants) like this, because if people see them and wear them the way they’re designed to be worn, that’s not going to be good at midnight,” Kylie advised.
‘Oh, it’ll be great at midnight, Kylie! I think it’ll be like, ‘Onya Lazza!’ she teased herself, and Sonia agreed.
“That’s not hernia squares, y’all, that’s a bug pack!” Larry said.
It comes as the TV presenter revealed what she would be doing with the Gold Logie trophy if she won on Sunday.
“If I win, there are about 4,000 people on my thank-you list, so I think I could just cut out names and pick them randomly out of pocket…and the trophy would have to live in my daughter Maggie’s room.” He would be very proud to put it on his shelf.
Kruger told the daily telegraph that hosting the awards in Sydney ‘has given them a new lease on life’.
“I think we should really celebrate our industry because we employ a lot of Australians, we contribute a lot to the economy and we appreciate the viewers, because without them we wouldn’t be us.”
