The 42-year-old Ramsay Street veteran also said it was unfair that two former Neighbors stars, Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Dan MacPherson, were invited onstage to share their memories of the soap, rather than an actor currently in the series plays.

Moloney said the entire 2022 cast should have been invited on stage to say one last goodbye to their peers after the show was canceled in March.

He also revealed that cast members of rival soap opera Home and Away had approached the Neighbors crew to say how shocked they were at the lack of a proper tribute.

“We showed up, and we did our obligatory three hours of talking to people on the red carpet… When we entered the room, we were eventually split up and sat at two different tables, it was horrible!” said Moloney.

“In fact, our table was actually stuck behind the cameras, we couldn’t even see the stage… it was incredibly disappointing the package they put together.”

He went on to say that the cast all deserved a chance to be on stage after a highlight aired featuring Neighbors’ most memorable moments.

“Daniel and Nat are just absolutely wonderful people and absolutely nothing against them, but we have people who have been on TV for almost 30 years, and I think the least they can do is make us say something,” he said.

“I mean, we’re in the fucking Hall of Fame, that’s not how you treat people and a show that’s in the Hall of Fame. I really mean good luck to the Logies.’

Following the ceremony, the industry’s leading blogger, David Knox of TV tonight said the show’s cast should have been invited onstage to bow during the on-air tribute.

“Just a week ago, the show spanned 37 years of production, unsurpassed in Australian drama history,” Mr Knox wrote after the ceremony.

“That cast should have been on stage and bowing,” he said.

“The whole room would have given them a standing ovation. The home and away team would have been their biggest fans that night.”

The Logies tribute aired a highlight film of Neighbors’ most memorable moments, including fan favorites Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.

Neighbors alumni Dan MacPherson, 42, and Natalie Bassingthwaighte, 46, then took the stage to present the Most Popular New Talent award.

Both actors had started their careers on the soap opera 10 Peach.

“I have so many wonderful memories of my time on the show,” Bassingthwaighte said.

She named Neighbor lifers Jackie Woodburne, Alan Fletcher, Stefan Dennis and Ian Smith as her “mentors” in the industry.

The final episode of Neighbors will air in Australia and the UK on August 1.
