A Sydney homeowner who attacked a group of young women for holding a Halloween party on her street has been criticized by other neighbors who say she couldn’t be more wrong.
Housemates had warned other residents on the street of the house party just off Balmoral Beach in Mosman, North Sydney, before it began on Saturday night.
The handwritten notes promised that “noise and disturbance would be kept within reasonable limits out of respect for the surrounding community” and acknowledged potential inconveniences.
“We understand that residing next to a home hosting an event can be disruptive and we appreciate your patience and understanding.”
While noting that police had been warned about the event, a neighbor took to a local social media group to complain about the party Monday morning.
The frustrated neighbor claimed the house had become a “frat house” and had hosted several loud parties since it sold for $8 million in June last year.
He went on to say that the party continued until 2:30 am, however others on adjacent properties disagreed.
One neighbor told Daily Mail Australia that the party hosts and their guests were nothing but courteous and had only held two other parties in the year since they lived there.
They said the venue’s claims in a social media post (pictured) were exaggerated and that the tenants were courteous and had only held three parties since June last year.
He said the tenants had come to apologize in person for a previous party that was “a little loud.”
The neighbor added that they “couldn’t hear” the party Saturday night and were grateful for the handwritten letter.
A second agreed that, even during the rare holidays, they have had no complaints with tenants.
Both said Saturday’s Halloween party had ended at 1 a.m., long before the woman’s claims that it would begin at 2:30 a.m.
Another noted that he had no idea a party was taking place and said he “never noticed” any noise or loud music.

New South Wales Police told Daily Mail Australia they received no noise complaints at the house on Saturday night.
The house, built in 1981, was first listed for sale in June 2023 and was described as an “exceptionally unique opportunity” to build in an “idyllic Balmoral setting”.
“It is the quintessential setting for a family lifestyle, where a morning swim and stroll along the sands of Balmoral Beach is just 130 meters away,” the advert reads.
A renovated home on the same street sold for a whopping $10.4 million in August of this year.
