Chelsea drew 2-2 against Burnley at Stamford Bridge, a result that will frustrate both teams, who had their chances to claim the three points.
Cole Palmer shone amid the chaos, scoring twice, including a fantastic finish from Panenka to give the Blues a one-goal half-time lead after Burnley’s Lorenz Assignon brought down Mykhailo Mudryk in the area.
Assignon was sent off for a second yellow card following the challenge, and Clarets manager Vincent Kompany also saw his marching orders during the VAR check that followed.
Josh Cullen’s first goal leveled for Burnley, before Palmer’s second in the 78th minute gave Chelsea a slight lead, before Dara O’Shea’s crucial header equalized three minutes later.

Chelsea
Dorde Petrovic – 5.5 – was the calmer of the two goalkeepers, crouching to deny Cullen on one occasion, but could do nothing when Burnley’s Rodriguez hit the crossbar late on.
Bad Taste – 6 – added to Chelsea’s injury woes when he retired with a hamstring problem later on, after a reasonable performance on the left side.
Axel Disasi – 6 – scored from close range, but the VAR ruled it out after it hit his elbow.
Benoit Badiashile – 6 – The French defender could not prevent the Clarets from scoring two goals, while the Bleses’ weaknesses continue.
Marc Cucurella – 6 – booked for a cynical foul that denied Burnley the opportunity to attack in the first half. Otherwise solid, with a header comfortably saved by Muric.
Mois̩s Caicedo Р6 Рreplaced by Sterling for the last quarter of an hour or so, having formed part of a solid defensive line in midfield alongside Fernandez.
Enzo Fernandez – 6.5 – He shot three times against the Clarets, but could not find a way out from the local midfield.
Cole Palmer – 7.5 – kept calm in the long wait for the penalty and scored a Panenka in style as Muric dived to his left. He got between the centre-backs for his second goal and showed once again why he is one of the Blues’ key men.
Conor Gallagher – 5.5 – cautioned in added time of the first half for one of his fouls. Take off after just over an hour towards Madueke, after fighting.
Mykhailo Mudryk – 7 – brought down by the penalty, as part of a great performance after his midweek heroics with Ukraine to send them to Germany in the summer.
Nicholas Jackson – 5.5 – missed a great opportunity to take the lead with just under 20 minutes left.
Palmer remained calm during the long wait until the penalty was confirmed before coolly finishing.
Raheem Sterling came off the bench for Moisés Caicedo and became provider for the second.
Substitutes: Noni Madueke (for Gallagher 62′) – 6 – unable to make much of an impression, after deputizing for Gallagher for the final half hour.
Raheem Sterling (by Caicedo 73′) – 6.5 – came off the bench to assist Palmer’s second with a splendid backheel. He missed a free header to make it 3-2 in favor of the Blues.
Alfie Gilchrist (for Gusto 87′) – called up for the final minutes to replace the injured Gusto.
Coach: Mauricio Pochettino – 5 – The blues dominated the first half, but they only had the penalty to prove it. Furthermore, two headers in the last ten minutes almost defeated them. The first four? What does that mean for Burnley?

Arijanet Muric – 7 – made saves to deny Fernandez, Jackson, Mudryk and Cucurella in the first half, before Palmer’s penalty. Second half heroics also save to keep Burnley in the game, showing why Kompany has trusted him.
Lorenz Assignón – 4 – booked for throwing Mudryk and sent off for bringing down the Ukrainian Euro qualifier hero in the box for the first goal.
Dara O’Shea – 7 – ran towards the near post and sent a thunderous header for Burnley’s equalizer. Part of a brilliant defensive performance from the Irish.
Maxime Esteve – 6.5 – formed a strong defensive partnership with O’Shea and limited Chelsea to half-chances that they were unable to capitalize on. Warning in added time for wasting time on a free kick.
VitiNo – 6.5 – made two successful tackles on the left side of the defensive line as Burnley attempted to keep the Blues at bay.
Jacob Bruun Larsen – 6 – The Dane had a couple of early opportunities, but couldn’t take advantage of them. Taken on at half-time by Josh Brownhill.

Josh Cullen came off the blocks in the second half with a first shot that went into the net.
Josh Cullen – 8 – Caicedo surprised with a continuation that was reprimanded in the first half. He came out after the restart and hit the ball for the first time, so it flew past Petrovic to tie Burnley two minutes into the second half. He turned provider with the corner that set up O’Shea’s equalizer.
Sander Berg̩ Р7 РThe Norwegian midfielder put in a solid performance in the center of the field against a Chelsea team that dominated the game, but not the scoreboard.
Wilson Odobert – 7– shot with curvature, forcing Petrovic to make a good save in the first quarter of an hour. He had a quieter second half before being removed.
Zeki Amdouni – 6 – unable to do much up front before being sacrificed for Charlie Taylor after the red card.
Lyle Foster – 7 – had a header chance to give Burnley the lead, but Petrovic was able to save. He played 70 minutes before being replaced by RodrÃguez.

Burnley substitute Jay Rodriguez hit the crossbar in the dying minutes with a stunning header.
