Charlie Woods is set to compete in a local 18-hole US Open qualifier in Florida this week, as he looks to earn a spot at Pinehurst No. 2 this summer.

The 15-year-old golf prodigy, son of 82-time PGA Tour winner Tiger Woods, will play at The Legacy Golf & Tennis Club in Port St. Lucie on Thursday with his tee time set for 8:18 a.m. ET. .

Of the 84-player qualifying field, five will advance to the final 36-hole qualifier in June.

Approximately 90 to 100 players will advance to the 124th Open, which will be played at the famed Pinehurst No. 2 for the fourth time in tournament history.

Past major champions, as well as the top 60 players in the official world rankings and the top 30 in last year’s PGA Tour FedEx Cup standings are exempt from qualifying.

The younger Woods shot 86, but will look to improve in Thursday’s US Open home qualifier.
