Liverpool have made an initial contract offer to Mohamed Salah as they look to ensure he stays at the club, according to a report.
As reported by The AthleticAn agreement with Salah has yet to be reached, but talks are underway over a new deal, with the winger’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Liverpool are expected to take some time to reach an agreement with Salah over his future.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, who are also in the final year of their deals, also received proposals.
Salah, who has been at Liverpool since 2017, has once again emphasized his importance to the club this season by scoring 13 goals and providing eight assists in 14 Premier League appearances.
The Egypt international had expressed concern last month over not having received a contract offer from the club.

However, Liverpool are now taking steps to try to ensure the 32-year-old remains at the club.
Liverpool’s encouraging start to the season under Arne Slot – they are four points clear of nearest rivals Chelsea at the top of the Premier League with a game in hand – could help encourage Salah to stay.
Ensuring Alexander-Arnold, 26, and Van Dijk, 33, remain at Anfield will also be of great importance for Liverpool.
Last month, Salah had revealed his disappointment at not being offered a new contract with Liverpool at the time.
Speaking to a small selection of journalists after Liverpool’s victory at Southampton, Salah said: “It’s almost December and I still haven’t received any offers to stay at the club. “I’m probably more out than in.
“You know that I have been at the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said, it is December and I still have not received anything about my future.
‘I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or in those of the fans.”
In total, Salah has scored 226 goals in 370 games for Liverpool.
During his time at the club he has won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup and two League Cups.
