Premier League trios Liverpool, Leicester and Newcastle are all reportedly chasing Olympiacos midfield sensation Aguibou Camara, who is expected to cost at least £20million.
The 20-year-old joined the Greek giants from Lille in the summer, playing just once for the reigning Ligue 1 champions.
However, the Guinea international has quickly pushed into Pedro Martins’ plans and is now set to draw interest from England after a string of impressive performances this season.
Aguibou Camara reportedly attracts Premier League interest after impressing this season
The 20-year-old has become a key part of Pedro Martins’ plans for Olympiacos
according to The sun, there are several Premier League and European clubs interested in him, with a source describing Camara as “one of the most exciting talents in Europe at the moment”.
All three English clubs on the list are said to have contacted the player’s agent, with those in the youngster’s inner circle expecting him to move to the Premier League next summer.
Camara has made his last nine league appearances, scoring three goals for the defending champions, as well as playing in six consecutive Europa League games, with Olympiacos second in Group D.
The young midfielder has also won eight caps for his country – seven of them in 2021 – and scored his first goal in a friendly 2-1 win over Niger in June.
Camara’s versatility is remarkable – and he has already scored three league goals in nine games this season
Camara’s versatility is striking for someone so young. He played mainly as number 10, but also played as a traditional central midfielder, on both flanks and left of a front three.
However, it won’t be just a matter between English sides to get their hands on Camara, with other teams apparently interested, including Villarreal, Valencia, Monaco and Bologna.
Camara would be the latest in a long line of players to have moved from Olympiacos to the Premier League, with the likes of Luka Milivojevic and Kostas Tsimikas walking that path for him.
Martins’ team will face Fenerbahce in Europe on Thursday, after which he will receive mid-table outfit Volos in the Greek Superleague on Sunday.
