Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace this summer.
The centre-back has been linked with a move away from the club for some time, and is one of several stars new manager Oliver Glasner could struggle to keep in the summer transfer window.
Mail Sport had reported that Tottenham had been considering signing the 23-year-old in January, while Arsenal had also been “chasing” the Eagles star in recent months.
But according to The TelegraphLiverpool are interested in signing the defender and “could face a fight with rivals Man United” to acquire him should Dan Ashworth join the Red Devils.
Newcastle’s sporting director, who was placed on gardening leave yesterday, had already been interested in signing the Magpies defender, according to the Telegraph.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side may have to fight with Man United to sign him, should Dan Ashworth, a former admirer of Guehi, join the Red Devils.
New Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner could face a battle to retain several key stars this summer.
They claim Ashworth “is known to be a fan of the player” and could try to bring him to Old Trafford if he joins Man United.
The Merseyside side have long been admirers of the Palace defender and could look to bolster their defensive stock, with 32-year-old Joel Matip currently sidelined with a torn ACL.
Guehi has also been sidelined since Crystal Palace’s 4-1 defeat against Brighton, after he limped off the pitch in the 28th minute after landing awkwardly on his knee.
Mail Sport understands he could miss around three weeks, and Palace are confident he has not suffered serious damage to his knee joints.
He missed Palace’s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea and the 1-1 draw against Everton, but Mail Sport understands he and Eberechi Eze are close to a return.
The English defender joined Palace from Chelsea in 2021 for £18m. His contract with the club expires in 2026, and Palace are likely to charge a hefty fee to sign him.

Glasner could also face a battle to retain teammate Michael Olise, who has also been heavily linked with a departure from the club.
Having impressed, making 22 starts for Palace in the top flight this season, Guehi has become a real rival to Harry Maguire and John Stones, and is pushing for a place at this summer’s Euros.
Palace may also struggle to retain Michael Olise this summer, who has been linked with several top clubs, including Man United, who could try to acquire the Palce midfielder.
