Liverpool have drawn up a contingency plan for futures options in case Mohamed Salah makes a shock move in Saudi Arabia, Email Sports Sami Mokbel revealed it.
The Reds have rejected a £150million bid from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad and the club are firmly insisting on Salah’s departure.
However, the concern remains: even if the European transfer window closes on Friday September 1 at 11 p.m., the Saudi market remains open until September 7.
It means Liverpool would have little time to find a ready-made replacement for Salah should the 31-year-old shock the club and make a surprise move to the Middle East.
Speak on Mail Sport It’s the start of the transfer showChief Football Reporter Mokbel does not believe Salah will be sold but says the club are looking into possible deals if they are to intervene in the market.

“I think ideally they don’t want to sell it. Jurgen Klopp absolutely does not want to sell him,” said Mokbel.
“But according to my information, they may have been in the process of putting themselves in a position to strike for certain attackers who might be available in the market in the event of Mo Salah leaving.”
“Even if they want to keep him, I don’t think it’s impossible for him to leave for Saudi Arabia.”
Al-Ittihad have already been busy this summer bringing in Karim Benzema from Real Madrid, N’Golo Kante from Chelsea and Fabinho, Salah’s former team-mate.
Led by Nuno Espirito Santo, the club currently sit top of the Saudi Pro League having won four out of four so far this season.
But a move for Liverpool’s number 11 would be one of the biggest deals in an incredible window for the league.
Salah’s status as the world’s greatest Arab athlete is fueling the chase and Al-Ittihad is ready to push until the last hour on Friday to get his man back.
Liverpool are in no rush to sell given the player still has two years left on his £350,000-a-week contract.
