Alan Brazil has revealed that he has been told there is a candidate in the running to replace Jurgen Klopp who the players would be happy with.
Klopp will leave at the end of the season, leaving a huge void to fill for his successor.
Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso is the current favorite to take charge of the club where he won multiple trophies as a player.
Alonso has been working miracles with Leverkusen, who are Bundesliga champions and are unbeaten in 38 games in all competitions.
While there is no doubt he will be welcomed, Brazil says the team will also be happy with another man.

“I was told that the players wouldn’t mind if the number two, Pep (Lijnders), took charge,” Brazil told talkSPORT.
Former Liverpool attacker Dean Saunders responded: “I heard that too. At least he (Lijnders) knows what’s going on there. It’s difficult, who do you give the job to? That club is that big.

Lijnders has been Klopp’s assistant since 2018. He is in the middle of his second spell at the club after working under Brendan Rodgers between 2014 and 2017.
He has some management experience, having been in charge of NEC for four months between those two periods. He was sacked after failing to gain promotion to the Eredivisie through the play-offs.
The Dutchman began his coaching career at PSV before spending eight years as an assistant at Porto.
