LIV Golf coach Greg Norman reveals his players will storm the green if one of them wins the Masters in Augusta

Date:

If Brooks Koepka takes his hot LIV shape to the Masters this week, he may have 17 fellow converts cheering him on the 18th hole in Augusta next Sunday.

LIV Golf Commissioner Greg Norman announced this is what his players told him they would do if someone in their group, including Australian superstar Cameron Smith and past champions including Dustin Johnson, won the green jacket.

Having 18 players from LIV, who have been banned by the PGA Tour, in Augusta dominated the lead, and Norman, in Orlando where Koepka will lead by three shots on the final day, announced the TV ratings for Sunday’s showdown between Rory McIlroy and “one of my buddies.” Unlike anything golf has ever seen.

Creating an ‘us vs. them’ mentality in the majors wasn’t part of LIV’s plan for Norman, who said the organizers of the four major tournaments should ‘always be Switzerland’ and remain neutral amid ongoing lawsuits between LIV and PGA Tour players and a ratings blackout. which may affect their continuing qualification.

But after he disrupted the game, Norman said there’s no denying the energy Sunday’s showdown can create.

LIV Golf founder Greg Norman has revealed that there will be an intense celebration if one of his players can win the Masters title this week.

“I compliment the masters on letting the guys play because now they’ve got the best ballpark and they’re actually now the real Super Bowl,” Norman told NCA NewsWire on Saturday.

But if I were professors now, I’d want, on Sunday, DJ or Brooks or Cam, any of the guys against Rory (McIlroy) and John Rahm. Can you imagine what the TV ratings would be like?

That’s what people want, and that’s what TV wants. The ratings will be much higher than any other ratings if Rory plays with any of our top players.

Norman insists that his ‘boys’ will compete for the green jacket too, having tricked the greens at Orange County National Golf Club into helping prepare them.

But he noted that wet weather should be expected in Augusta, where it is also likely to play into the hands of men like Smith, Johnson and Koepka.

They are very focused. We’ve got these green speeds around 13 right now, and it’s going to be a little faster tomorrow, so they’re working their way into next week, but next week, it’s going to be a mess.

“It’ll soften the golf course, and it’ll fit two of my boys. It’s going to be a big, long golf course. You know, Cam carries the ball a long distance, DJ, Brooks too.”

And should that turn into a win, Norman said whoever is on the 18th green could have the LIV cheerleading squad there to support them, an image which the Australian legend said “gives me goosebumps”.

There’s talk of our teams everywhere here, there’s 18 or we LIV guys in Augusta, and if one of the guys, no matter who it is, they’re all there on the 18th green, they’re all there, and it gives me chills to think about it,” He said.

When you turn 18, you hug your caddy and then you see your wife or your mom and dad. Now we have these 17 people in there, that’s the spirit we want.

This is what these guys are talking about. They say no matter who wins, no matter who is in that position, we’ll be there.

“And it just gives me chills to think about.”
