Lionel Messi agrees to film behind-the-scenes documentary for Apple about his move to Inter Miami, with ‘unprecedented access’ as he adjusts to life in the US
Apple has announced a new documentary series chronicling Lionel Messi’s blockbuster move to Inter Miami, with the project providing “unprecedented access” to the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.
The streaming giant said the project will have six parts and will feature behind-the-scenes footage of his first game-winning Miami goal, moments with him and his teammates and show his “immersion” in America.
“I couldn’t be happier to come to Miami and join such an incredible group of people and organization,” Messi reportedly said in a statement. Press release.
“I join in the desire to compete, to win and to help the club continue to grow. I also think that we are going to really have fun, have a good time and very special things are going to happen.
Apple also announced in June that it would be making a separate documentary project about Messi, focusing on his international career – and his World Cup victory – with Argentina.

Messi has lit up America since making his Miami debut against Cruz Azul last month.
Including his free-kick winner in that match, he scored eight goals in just five games as his side reached the League Cup semi-finals.
That game takes place Tuesday night at the Philadelphia Union, with tickets selling for a staggering $609 on average according to TickPick.
But Messi’s arrival was also defined by the fanfare he fueled off the pitch.
He set the internet on fire when he and his family visited Florida supermarket chain Publix for groceries, with fans taking selfies with him wondering if he had bought one of the famous ‘Pub Subs” from the store.
During Messi’s unveiling at DRV PNK Stadium – an event held even before he played for Miami – he was greeted by a who’s who of athletes like Tom Brady, Stephen Curry, Alex Morgan and many more in a pre-recorded video.
And the stars would come out in person for her debut, too.
LeBron James and Serena Williams made the trip to South Florida, while Kim Kardashian was even present with her son Saint.
We hope all of this and more will be documented in Apple’s new Messi project.
