Forget Duolingo: There’s a better way to learn a new language, according to a woman on TikTok.

Eylül Nim, who speaks six languages, regularly shares her tips on how to best learn new dialects – however, her latest suggestion sees her offer some much more salacious advice on how to improve your studies.

Her recommendation? Find an attractive teacher.

“I’m about to give you some unethical advice on how to learn a new language very effectively,” he said in one of his latest videos.

Eylül, who is originally from Turkey but currently lives in Seoul, South Korea, recently uploaded a video of herself speaking French, leaving her followers stunned and unable to believe that she had learned another language.

“You were like, ‘What the hell? How did they learn so much in nine months?'” he recalled.

Eylül said she tried to find interesting content for a while while learning French, but struggled to find anything interesting, until she stumbled upon French teacher Carlito’s YouTube channel.

“I started seeing this guy because he was hot and at the time I was bored with anything French,” she admitted.

“I started watching his videos just because of his face. It was nice to look at his face.”

After watching her videos consistently, Eylül said they had stuck with her and she had learned enough French to hold a conversation, and was receiving comments and questions from native speakers wondering how she knew the language’s colloquialisms.

“It’s probably my son Carlito,” he joked. “He probably said it once and it stuck with me.”

“Basically, find someone who speaks your language (the target language), look at their face and learn languages unconsciously,” he concluded.

Thousands of people have commented on the TikTok, which has more than six million views, thanking the polyglot for her advice and sharing their own.

“I fell in love with my Spanish teacher and got an A so this probably works. I’ve completely forgotten about it but oh well I got the grade lol (cracking my ass),” one commented.

If you've ever had trouble learning a language, she suggests finding an attractive teacher.

“This is how my Russian improved so much when I was on Erasmus, because I had a huge crush on this Belarusian guy and learned a lot of phrases from him (Vlad, I still miss you),” shared another.

Someone else added: ‘I learned Spanish by watching soap operas. And I learned English by watching movies.

Eylül often shares language learning tips on her social media; her top tip is to develop habits that strengthen your skills.

The first habit he suggests is to binge listen instead of binge watch.

‘Swap Netflix for podcasts, audiobooks and even catchy songs in the language you want to learn,’ Eylül advised.

‘Our ears will absorb it like a sponge even if we don’t consciously understand what’s going on or follow the conversation.’

Secondly, the language guru says to talk to yourself.

“Don’t scare your neighbours: just tell them about your day, order a coffee or even argue with the TV in the language you are studying,” he suggested.

‘Bonus points for recording yourself and feeling embarrassed on the first try (we’ve all been there).’

His third habit is to convert his phone to a different language.

‘Stop mindlessly browsing and download language learning apps like Langster, Duolingo, TV5 Monde and even follow hilarious meme accounts,’ he urged.

‘Every bit of exposure counts and you’ll be laughing (and learning) in no time!’
