Line Of Duty: James Lakewell’s Gruesome Prison Murder EXPLAINED

0

Season six of Line Of Duty has left fans with more questions than answers, with viewers flocking to Twitter to wonder what exactly DCI Jo Davidson is up to, whether Kate Fleming has really left AC-12 and who is H?

Here, MailOnline explores some of the most prominent fan theories

Kate Fleming has NOT left AC-12 and is working undercover

One of the most shocking discoveries was that AC-12’s Kate is now working with a new team – some fans are suggesting she even got the infamous H.

While chatting with her new gaffer DCI Davidson, Kate said, “I was fed up with nasty buyers, I’d rather go after the psycho who killed Gail. [Vella]

But despite the fact that she seemed confident in her new role, some viewers wondered if everything looked like it and theorized that Kate could still be undercover for AC-12.

Even after she tipped off Davidson and took on the ire of Ted Hastings, fans continued to speculate that she is so deeply undercover that even Hastings has to keep her true agenda a secret.

DCI Jo Davidson is being blackmailed by an organized crime group

Jo has already survived a whim of AC-12’s top team and seemed to clear her name when ex-girlfriend PS Farida Jatri appeared to have participated in corruption.

However, Jo was seen taking a ride with the well-known buckled copper Ryan Pilkington and taken to pick up a burner phone, which made her look suspicious again.

However, fans are convinced that the DCI is being blackmailed by an OCD, following her emotional outburst when she was summoned to retrieve a new burner.

DCI Jo Davidson’s mother is Anne-Marie McGillis

Fans speculated on who could be Jo’s mother after she was seen in a picture in the first episode.

Many theorized that her mother has something to do with season five of character John Corbett [Stephen Graham] mother Anne-Marie McGillis, who was murdered by an Irish Republican paramilitary group sometime after 1989.

Gail Vella is still alive

Although season six centers on the murder of journalist Gail Vella, an obscure theory is that she is in fact still alive.

Craig Parkinson, who played Matthew ‘Dot’ Cottan on the show, said on BBC Sounds podcast Obsessed with Line of Duty: ‘There’s someone in that flat and there’s a connection to Gail Vella, the investigative journalist.

“You don’t cast someone like Andi Osho and then just let her hang like little magazine prints and stick them on a kitchen wall.”

Sarah Millican – who also appeared on the podcast – suggested that Vella may have been a former DCI Davidson aficionado.

DC Chloe Bishop is the daughter of Tony Gates

Bishop is one of the newest recruits to AC-12, and since Gates and his wife Jools had two daughters, Natalie and Chloe, viewers have suggested that their shared first name “ can’t be a coincidence. ”

Gates’s daughter was last seen in season one in 2012, which means she would be about the same age as Bishop is today.

Fans have suggested that Bishop took either her mother’s maiden name or a stepfather’s name, so her true identity remains a secret for the time being.

Gates died at the end of the first season when he ran into a busy road after receiving a confession from gang leader Tommy Hunter, who blackmailed the police officer into covering up their criminal activities.

Curved copper Ryan Pilkington is actually an honest cop

Ryan first appeared on the show’s first season as a big-mouthed teen for the criminal gang that worked with bent brass DCI Gates.

His forays on the show have taken an even darker turn in recent seasons, when he attempted to cut off DS Arnott’s fingers with bolt cutters and also killed undercover cop DS Corbett.

However, Jed Mercurio, the show’s creator, teased the possibility that Ryan has “ turned a new leaf ” and is not a spy with the central police, despite what fans may think of his criminal past.

Jed claimed, “Now that Ryan is a police officer, viewers will have to wait and see if he turns a new page or if he remains a dangerous inner man for organized crime.”

DCI Jo Davidson’s mysterious blood relative is …?

After it was revealed that Jo’s DNA matched someone on the national police computer, fans theorized who that could be.

The predominant theories suggested that Davidson’s relative was either Tommy Hunter, from series one and two, Mike Dryden from series two, John Corbett from series five, or Derek Hilton, killed in series four.

Tommy Hunter was the leader of the OCG in the show’s earlier series, and a pedophile. His character is dead.

Mike Dryden, the former deputy police chief, was last seen stepping down for disrupting justice in series two. His Scottish ties also suggest he may be related to Davidson.

John Corbett was a series five undercover cop who had his throat slit, leaving behind a wife, two daughters, and a mysterious link to a woman, Anne-Marie, whom fans claim could also be Davidson’s mother.

Derek Hilton was a Superintendent and later the Assistant Chief of Police of the Central Police. He was also secretly associated with organized crime. He was shot in the mouth in a suicide in the fourth season.

Other suggestions included Gill Biggeloe, Jackie Laverty, Lindsay Denton, or Terry Boyle.
