“Drop the weapon!” Eagle-eyed Line Of Duty Fans Claim They ‘Solved’ Outcome of THAT tense gunfight after seeing ‘corpse’ in trailer

Eagle-eyed Line Of Duty fans are confident they’ve solved the outcome of the intense Sunday episode shootout between PC Ryan Pilkington and DIKate Fleming, after seeing a corpse in a preview of next week’s episode.

The AC-12 undercover specialist, played by Vicky McClure and the show’s villain (Gregory Piper), drew their guns on last week’s show while yelling at each other to drop their guns.

And when the screen went black at the end of the dramatic cliffhanger episode, two bullets could be heard.

But viewers seem to have deduced the outcome of the shootout for the next episode, after seeing a corpse that resembles Ryan.

Also in another trailer released for the start of the new season in March, fans noticed certain scenes, including Detective Kate, that have not yet aired.

They were quick to point out a blink-and-miss-it scene where Kate stands next to acting Superintendent Jo Davidson, played by Kelly MacDonald.

So fans concluded that the scene must take place in the aftermath of the shooting – indicating that Kate will survive.

One viewer took to Twitter and said, ‘Looks like a Ryan Pilkington lying dead in the truck park from the trailer.

Did Jo have a gun and did he stop him? Kate shot first? Kate still alive? Did AC-12 arrive on time? So many questions from that incredible cliffhanger. ‘

Another fan agreed: “Ryan was actually shot (look at the body lying on the floor between the black van and the police car).”

A third viewer said, ‘Yeah I’m that person who goes back and analyzes the original trailer after each episode and isn’t this the location of tonight’s final scene? There’s a body on the floor. Ryan? ‘

A fourth viewer added: ‘But we know Kate and Jo aren’t dead as we’ve seen clips of them in the trailers that haven’t aired yet #lineofduty.’

Another Line Of Duty fan said online: ‘#LineofDuty I have high hopes for Kate as the original trailer for the series had Kate and Jo holding their hands in the air as Steve pointed his gun at them.

“They were wearing the clothes they had in the last scene!”

Earlier on Sunday’s episode, which drew an astonishing 10 million viewers, Kate was lured to a run-down location by AC-12 target DCI Jo, who turns out to be related to OCG boss Tommy Hunter.

After a raid uncovered a criminal workplace and AC-12 saw Ryan using a burner phone to notify his Mafia friends about the raids, tensions between Kate and the corrupt cop hit an all-time high.

He appeared in the dingy location from a car and pulled a gun at her with the intention of killing her, but Kate stopped Ryan when she told him they have surveillance footage documenting his shady activities.

Kate had managed to text Inspector Arnott, her crime-fighting partner, for the intense final scene, but it remains to be seen if he’ll get her in time to help and catch Ryan.
