‘It was at the time when there was no PPE. Then they wouldn’t come into my room. My daughter had to call the hospital reception to come get them to bring me water.

‘I lost a lot of weight. My limbs, everything on me was blue, I wasn’t getting enough oxygen.

‘I just wanted this to stop. I had given up.’

Linda explained that when she was first admitted to the hospital she was one of the first, but when she was discharged it was “like a war zone.”

She revealed that no one was allowed into the room to see her and the whole experience still has a traumatic impact on her husband to this day.

Elsewhere in the podcast, Linda said her husband reached out to a spiritual woman in hopes she could help her recovery.

Unaware of what her husband had arranged, Linda had fallen asleep the night the woman, Jane, had planned to visit her.

She told Anna: ‘He spoke to me about half past six. I could almost take off my mask to go to sleep. He told me “okay, rest”, he didn’t tell me anything about it.

“That dream I had for about an hour and a half, I kept thinking about the kids and thought, ‘Am I going to be okay?’

“The lucid dreams I was having, I woke up with a smile on my face and just thought, ‘I’m going to be okay, I’m going to be okay, that’s not going to get me.’

“I called Sam and took the mask off my face and said, ‘Don’t worry, I’m going to be fine.’

‘I’m going to get through this. I just feel like I’m going to be okay. I had color in my cheeks that I didn’t have before.

But the funniest thing was that Jane called him and said, “I’ve been there and your energy is so stagnant.” I got it moving, it’s moving now, it’s moving slowly, but you didn’t tell me she was that feisty. I thought this girl was going to be like a flower. But my God, she’s energetic. And we’ve become close friends.”

‘I told the ambulance lady, if she doesn’t take me in, I’m going to die in this bed. I knew he would do it.

‘I think I probably had another 24 hours, maybe 48 hours, and I would have gone because I felt like my body was dying.

“It’s nothing you can explain to people because unless you’ve been there you think, ‘how could you know that?’, but you can almost feel your organs failing.”

“You just sit back and think, ‘I have to give in, I give in, you’re going to take me.’
