The 35-year-old actress shared the work she’d been doing alongside close friend Bart Edwards with her Instagram followers in a post on Monday.

The Pam & Tommy actress shared a series of snaps of herself exploring the country, driving a Jeep through parks and taking in the vast mountain ranges.

Lily was dressed in cream trousers and a grey vest, her brown hair half hidden by a cap as she smiled for the camera.

In her latest post she wrote: ‘I’m proud to support the @spaceforgiants. Protect their Pathways campaign on this World Elephant Day.

‘During my time working with the SFG team, I learned about the many threats elephants face, from habitat loss to competition for resources and the land they call home. Without urgent protection, we risk losing them forever.

Lily shared an insight into her journey as she shared photos of herself enjoying a hot drink on top of a mountain and wrote in her journal.

She looked cool as she settled into a Kenyan-print chair overlooking the vast and beautiful landscape.

Lily said at the time: “I am truly honoured to be a global supporter of Space For Giants and to help achieve their goals of protecting Africa’s remaining natural ecosystems and the populations of large wild animals they contain, and the people who depend on the land.”

Lily continued: ‘Earlier this year, I had the privilege of visiting some of the critical wildlife refuges that have been restored and protected by Space for Giants in Kenya.

‘With more than 90% of Africa’s 8,400 protected landscapes unfunded and many natural ecosystems unprotected in the face of massive human pressures, wild animals such as elephants, rhinos and big cats are in serious trouble.

‘The work that Space for Giants does is therefore more important than ever.’

Space for Giants CEO and Founder Dr Max Graham said: “We are enormously grateful to Lily for taking on this pivotal role in supporting us and our frontline teams to preserve Africa’s last remaining natural ecosystems and the large wild animals they are home to.”

‘Space For Giants, with its unwavering commitment to protecting Africa’s natural heritage across 10 African countries, welcomes Lily as a valuable addition to its global conservation efforts.’

One of the Space For Giants projects Lily learned about during her visit to Kenya was the reintroduction of 21 eastern black rhinos to the Loisaba reserve.

Rhinos had been on the brink of extinction due to poaching for more than half a century.

Lily reflected: ‘Without Space For Giants’ tireless work on the ground every day, our children would only see these amazing animals in books.’

The announcement comes as Lily continues filming US biographical drama Swiped.

Swiped tells the story of Whitney Wolfe Herd, who was forced to leave the world’s most popular dating app, Tinder, after being sexually harassed by a colleague.

Whitney, 35, co-founded Tinder and just months after she, 35, left the company, she co-founded Bumble, popular for its female-centric approach and now the second most-used dating app in the world.

Swiped also stars Jackson White, Dan Stevens, Ben Schnetzer and Bodies Bodies Bodies’ Myha’la Herrold.
