Lily Allen discussed four years of sobriety during her appearance on This Morning on Wednesday.

The singer – who is married to Stranger Things costar David Harbor – has been candid about her struggles with addiction, previously revealing that the last time she drank alcohol was July 28, 2019.

“It’s weird,” the 37-year-old told presenters Holly Willoughby and Joel Dermott. My life has changed a lot.

“I have been clean and sober for four years now, I have a new husband, and we are getting our lives in America in order.”

Lilly, who rose to fame in the 2000s with her hit single Smile, has recently ventured into the world of acting.

She is set to make her television debut by starring in Sky’s comedy-drama series Dreamland and appeared on This Morning alongside co-star and Doctor Who alum Freema Agyeman.

Speaking about the show, she said, “I felt light and positive which I have never felt in my life.

It’s my path to acting and it feels authentic with the female cast. The energy in the room was very kind and generous and it didn’t really shock me it was because there were no men.

“Coming from the live music guys it’s pretty heavy, guys making combos etc as you travel and it was nice to try something different.”

For the interview, Lily looked usually chic in an oversized gray blazer, teamed with a sparkly maxi skirt and blue knee-high boots.

Instead of her signature dark locks, the playmaker switched them up for a short, blonde bob.

Lily has always been open about her drinking and drug use, especially when she released her memoir Exactly My Thoughts in 2020.

In 2018, she was criticized for glamorizing her drug use after admitting to snorting a line of ketamine at the Glamor Women of the Year Awards in 2008.

Describing what happened, Allen said: ‘Someone gave me a line for what I assumed was cocaine at the Glamor Awards once, but it turned out to be ketamine. I got kicked out (I went over some railings) from the Glamor Awards for being in a big hole.

She added, “Obviously, I couldn’t speak or direct the driver, so my assistant instructed the occupant in the back to ‘follow that cab.’ I think the passenger was a chattyman. I have no idea what happened next.

Last year, Lily revealed that she didn’t know if she’d ever be able to go on stage again after her performance at Glastonbury with Olivia Rodrigo.

The singer said her daughters Ethel, 10, and Marnie, 9, were “so proud” to see their mother entertain the crowd at the festival, as Olivia invited her onstage during her performance.

Lily shared a clip of her performance on Instagram, and expressed her excitement that her daughters saw the play and called it “an amazing day.”

She wrote: ‘Quite emosh. It really messed things up, but at least my kids got to see Mama play it and slay Glastonbury with their favorite pop star.

They were so proud and so was I that I didn’t know if I’d ever be able to step on a stage like that sober again if I’m being honest, part of me thought it was all in the past.

You had the most beautiful day. Thanks @oliviarodrigo for having us. I smashed my first Glastonbury. Who knows, maybe I won’t turn off (the mic) just yet. “

Olivia called Lilly on stage to perform her song F**k You in response to the US Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Lily shared several shots of herself on stage and backstage before the show along with a letter Olivia wrote to thank her for joining her at the festival.

Olivia wrote: “Lily, thank you so much for sharing this day with me. It really is the greatest honor. Your music and songwriting is so amazing and has inspired me so much for years.

I am so grateful to know you. Thanks for making this a day I will never forget. Olivia.

Introducing her guest, Olivia said, “Someone I absolutely adore is here today, I think she’s the most amazing songwriter, the most amazing artist, the most amazing person, and I’m so lucky that she’s here singing with me today.”

Lily is then seen putting her middle finger on stage, before saying, “We hate you guys!” While the couple launched into an expletive-laden song.

The Supreme Court ended constitutional protections for abortion that had been in place for nearly 50 years with its decision to overturn the landmark 1973 Roe v Wade ruling and return power to individual states to decide whether or not to allow the procedure.

The justices held that the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that allowed abortions to be performed before a fetus was viable outside the womb—between 24 and 28 weeks of gestation—was decided in error because the US Constitution does not specifically mention abortion rights.

The ruling means that individual states now have the power to decide whether to ban abortion. The Guttmacher Institute, a pro-choice research group, said 26 states are “confirmed or likely” to ban abortion now.
