The body of a man was discovered in the bush by a private individual.

Emergency services were called to George Bass Dr at Lilli Pilli, 10km southeast of Batemans Bay on the NSW south coast, at around 10.30am on Wednesday.

The body was discovered surrounded by bushes.

NSW Police established a crime scene and officers investigated the circumstances of the man’s death.

Police are understood to be investigating whether the body was burned before being dumped.

Police will also look for links between the body and possible missing people.

The news comes just a day after a mother drowned at Pebbly Beach, 29km northeast of Batemans Bay, after trying to save her daughter.
