Liberal media journalists appear to have been stunned after voters showed a preference for Trump over Kamala Harris in a series of on-the-street interviews.
A clip that went viral on X shows host Don Lemon interviewing strangers in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and finding that many agreed they felt more financially stable under Trump.
And in one cringe-inducing exchange, a voter laughs in Lemon’s face after the reporter tries to discuss her personal experience. In another instance, Lemon sensationally asks a male interviewee if his resistance to Harris is because “she’s a woman.”
A second clip from the left ABC News It shows a woman saying she was considering voting for Trump because Harris “just got caught up in so many lies.”
The development comes after it emerged that the Democratic presidential candidate’s “honeymoon” period with liberal media appeared to have come to an abrupt end after her “communist” plan to control food prices sparked outrage. Critics had previously suggested Harris had benefited from “propaganda” among left-leaning media.
A clip that went viral on X shows host Don Lemon interviewing strangers in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and finding that many agreed they felt more financially stable under Trump.
Most notably, he appeared on the cover of Time magazine despite having given no media interviews in the first three weeks of his presidential campaign.
But the latest videos appear to show that such efforts are having no impact on ordinary voters even though a number of polls appear to show Harris leading her opponent.
Lemon’s clip, which has 2.1 million views, begins with him asking a stranger on the street: ‘Who do you support?’
The man replies: “Trump for victory.”
When Lemon questions him further, he continues: “I can’t say right now, but I feel like (Harris) is not good at being president. She’s good at being vice president, but not good at the leading role in the country.”
The journalist then asks the young man if his opinion has “anything to do with her being a woman” to which he answers flatly: “no.”
She added: ‘Because I feel like a woman, no, I’m not going to give you that.’
Another voter explained that “she has no experience.”
Lemon, incredulous, replied: “It’s the vice president! It’s the senator!”
A voter is then filmed telling the reporter: “I want Donald Trump. I just feel like we need someone who has a stronger background in the military and in the world at large.”
He later added: “I know nobody likes him, but we had a good time with Donald Trump. Our economy was good. Life was good.”
A fourth voter tells the reporter: “I want to support the Democratic Party, but it seems like Trump has everything under control right now.”
Lemon is heard telling two voters that “statistics show” the economy was stronger under Biden than under Trump, to which both reject his claims.
The clip was posted by Trending Politics co-founder Colin Rugg and sparked a number of comments criticizing Lemon.
One said: “The level of entitlement that comes with telling someone they are wrong about their own financial situation is truly mind-boggling.”
Another wrote: “I love watching Don Lemon fall flat on his face. Sorry Don, people like our Don!”
A third comment read: “He tried to deny a person’s actual experience. It’s disgusting.”
A separate clip of an ABC street interview in Wisconsin also went viral on X, racking up 36,000 views.
A young black woman is filmed telling an interviewer: ‘I’m leaning toward Trump.’
When asked, the voter explains that she believes Kamala is reusing many policies that Trump had already promised.
“A lot of the things Kamala says are similar to what Trump said, like there would be no tax on tips. That’s something Trump had reiterated beforehand. She’s just been caught up in a lot of lies.”
The comment referred to a statement backed by Harries on Monday in which he supported the removal of taxes on tips.
The policy, which has proven popular among service industry workers, was first proposed by Trump.
A separate clip of an ABC street interview in Wisconsin also went viral, racking up 36,000 views.
This led the Republican candidate to attack his opponent on his platform, Truth Social.
He wrote: ‘Kamala Harris, whose ‘honeymoon’ period is ENDING and is starting to take major hits in the polls, just copied my NO TIP TAX policy.
“The difference is she won’t do it, she just wants it for political reasons! This was TRUMP’s idea. She has no ideas, she can only steal from me. Remember, Kamala has proposed the BIGGEST TAX INCREASE EVER. It won’t happen. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”
Left-leaning media outlets have come under scrutiny for giving Harris unfairly positive coverage.
Former Republican Congressman Zach Wamp said last week that the current vice president was in a “honeymoon period.”
Speaking to Sky News Australia, she said: “The media is helping to portray her as not being progressive or a real liberal. No one is holding her to account.”
Harris has also been criticized for obsessively avoiding media interviews. She has not given a single formal interview or press conference, despite being three weeks into the presidential campaign.
Similarly, journalist Glenn Greenwald wrote in X: “The way the American corporate media transformed Kamala Harris from a national embarrassment to a transformative trailblazer overnight (without even pretending to care about anything she thinks or believes) is a powerful testament to how potent the science of propaganda is.”
