Libby Squire’s killer exposed himself to her weeks before her murder, her mother believes.
Her mother, Lisa Squire, said a stranger she now believes is the man who murdered her daughter exposed himself to her on her way home weeks before her death.
She said the incident had left her daughter feeling “absolutely furious” but never thought to tell her to report the incident to the police.
Pawel Relowicz, 28, a married father of two and a Polish butcher, dumped the body of the 21-year-old student in the River Hull after raping her on a playing field in the early morning of February 1, 2019.
Before carrying out the murder, Relowicz had been carrying out a campaign of sexually motivated chilling crimes in the Hull student area, leaning out of windows to watch young women and breaking into their homes to steal intimate items.
Lisa Squire (pictured), her mother, told The Guardian that a stranger she now believes to be Relowicz exposed himself to her daughter on her way home weeks before her death.

She said the incident left her daughter (pictured) feeling “absolutely furious” but never thought to tell her to report the incident to the police.
said Mrs. Squire the Guardian: “But I never thought to tell her, you have to report that, you have to call the police, and she didn’t report it either.
We are almost conditioned to ignore indecent exposure. I didn’t know better then, but I know better now.
Earlier this month, Sarah Everard’s killer, Wayne Couzens, was finally brought to justice for a series of earlier incidents.
Former officer Couzens, 50, was supposed to be on duty and working from home when he was exposed to a female cyclist on a country lane in Kent in November 2020.
Female attendees were then exposed at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Swanley, Kent, twice in February 2021, the latest incident just days before he abducted 33-year-old Ms Everard in south London.

Pawel Relowicz (pictured), 28, married father of two and a Polish butcher, dumped the body of the 21-year-old student in the River Hull after raping her on a playing field in the early morning of February 1, 2019.
Lisa Squire said she was “absolutely horrified” when she learned the details of Ms Everard’s murder as they were “identical” to those of her daughter.
While he admitted that he will never be able to prove that it was Relowicz who showed his daughter, he nevertheless said that “the coincidence is there.”
“Most likely it was Relowicz who showed Libby why he was doing that in the box at the time,” he said.
‘I can never prove that, but the coincidence is there, isn’t it?’
During Relowicz’s sentencing hearing, Judge Lambert said he had been “emboldened” that he had not been arrested.
Since her daughter’s death, Ms Squire has been campaigning for earlier intervention and tougher crackdowns on lesser-level sexual offences.
“Not all non-contact sex offenders will go on to become a rapist, but all rapists were non-contact sex offenders at some point,” he said.
“So I think we need to take them for the red flags that they really are.”
