Liam Payne’s heartbreaking last words about his son, Bear, have resurfaced following the singer’s shocking death aged 31.
The former One Direction member reportedly fell from the third floor of the CasaSur Palmero hotel in Buenos Aires shortly after 5pm on Wednesday.
Investigations into his death are still ongoing, and spokesman for the city’s ambulance service provider, Alberto Crescenti, said Payne had suffered “serious injuries that were incompatible with life.”
Liam welcomed his seven-year-old son, Bear Grey, with Cheryl Cole in March 2017, and earlier in August this year, he made rare comments about his ‘mini me’ son while celebrating his 31st birthday.
In an Instagram video uploaded at the time, the late star told her followers: “I still don’t have dad socks.” “I’m going to talk to my son in a little while, which I’m really excited about.”
‘Bless him. It’s growing a lot now. He is a big boy and looks like a mini me. As if we needed more me in the world.

In 2016, he began dating Cheryl Cole after her divorce from Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini and their son was born the following year. However, in 2018, the couple separated.
After a brief relationship with supermodel Naomi Campbell, the singer began dating Maya Henry in 2019 and they became engaged the following year. In 2022, the former couple officially went their separate ways.
Just days before Liam’s death, Henry had begun taking legal action against him after accusing the One Direction star of obsessive touching and “weaponizing his fans” against her.
But shortly after his passing, Maya broke her silence, with her rep telling DailyMail.com: “He’s obviously in shock right now.”
Until his death, Payne had been in a relationship with Kate Cassidy, whom he began dating in October 2022.
Both Liam and his ex, Cheryl, have mostly kept their son out of the public eye, but he has made other previous comments about Bear in the past.
During an interview with People In 2022, the For You singer sweetly said that his son looks up to him as “a superhero.”
“I see him twice a week, sometimes three times a week. And I make sure that when I see him, he has 100 percent of my time. I make sure I’m not on the phone or joking anywhere else.

Liam reportedly fell from a hotel in Buenos, Argentina, on Wednesday around 5 pm (ART).
Alberto Crescenti, spokesman for the city’s ambulance service, said Payne had fallen 40 meters and suffered “serious injuries that were incompatible with life.”
‘The alarm was raised at 5:04 pm local time saying that a person was lying in an internal courtyard of Casa Sur. At 5:11 pm an ambulance arrived and the man was certified dead.
Crescenti added: “We later discovered that he had been a famous singer. Unfortunately, the injuries he had suffered as a result of the fall proved fatal. There was no possibility of resuscitating him.’
Earlier this month, Liam had recently seen his former bandmate Niall Horan’s concert in Argentina.
Payne’s final Snapchat posts were also revealed shortly after his tragic death, which showed him posing with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, just minutes before ‘falling off a balcony.’

One image showed Liam and Kate pausing to take a mirror selfie together, as well as another post in which he looked into the camera and wrote: “Beautiful day in Argentina.”
He shared an additional photo alongside Cassidy, which was captioned, “Quality Time.”
Liam included a photo of an outdoor patio and wrote: “Happy to have had some time off,” and shared another in which he revealed he was debating whether he would be Forrest Gump for Halloween.
Payne also uploaded a photo of the food he and Kate enjoyed, writing: “We’ve been waking up at 1pm every day.”
In 2008, Liam launched his music career after auditioning on The X Factor when he was just 14 in front of judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue.
He was eliminated from the competition series, but returned in 2010 and joined Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson to form the boy band One Direction.
The group won third place on The X Factor and became a global sensation, with hits such as What Makes You Beautiful and Live While We’re Young.
The band released five studio albums, including Up All Night (2011), Midnight Memories (2013) and Made In The AM (2015), following Malik’s departure from the group.
In 2016, One Direction went on an infinite hiatus.
