Liam Payne’s father is being sued for $10 million for defamation by a close friend of his late son, who claims he has been made a scapegoat for the star’s tragic death.

Rogelio ‘Roger’ Nores, an Argentine businessman, was among the last people to see the former One Direction singer, 31, alive in Buenos Aires on October 16 last year, before he fatally fell from the balcony of the third floor of a hotel.

Nores was sensationally charged with manslaughter last month for having “abandoned him (Liam) to his fate knowing that he was incapable of caring for himself and knowing that he (Liam) suffered from multiple addictions.”

Judge Laura Bruniard considered that Nores ‘breached his duties of care, assistance and help’ towards the singer, who died during his stay at the CasaSur Palmero boutique hotel.

Four others – hotel manager Gilda Martín, hotel worker Ezequiel Pereyra, hotel receptionist Esteban Grassi and waiter Braian Paiz – have also been charged in connection with the singer’s death.

But now Nores has accused the star’s father, Geoff Payne, of causing her “irreparable harm” valued at more than $10 million, in a lawsuit filed in Palm Beach, Florida.

All ‘net financial proceeds’ from the legal action will be donated to Liam’s son Bear, Roger maintains.

It claims Geoff, a mechanic from Wolverhampton, made “misleading, false and defamatory” statements in sworn statements to Buenos Aires police detectives investigating Liam’s death and who framed him.

Geoff Payne, Liam’s father, is being sued for $10 million for defamation by a close friend of his late son, who claims he has been made a scapegoat for his tragic death.

He claims that the “false” statements are:

Geoff told police that Nores and Kate Cassidy were his nurses and responsible for his care.

But Nores says that while Liam was a dear friend, he never agreed to be one or was his carer and had no legal duty to Liam.

Geoff also allegedly told police that Rogelio (Roger) Nores took Liam to see a new, unnamed psychiatrist in Florida after his doctor, Dr. Rhaidy, resigned, and that Nores lied to the new doctor about the Liam’s problems with alcohol and drugs in order to help him. prescribe psychiatric medication and avoid continuing with Dr. Rohaidy’s care recommendations.

But Nores claims that he and Liam never visited “another psychiatrist” together, that there was “no other psychiatrist” and that Geoff’s statement is 100 percent fiction. Therefore, he could never have withheld any information from the non-existent doctor.

Another claim is that Geoff told police that they could not leave their son alone, that he did not have his own phone and that they could only contact him through his girlfriend Kate or Nores.

But Nores says Liam was frequently alone while living in Florida and always had his own phone, except a few days after it broke during an argument with Kate.

Nores’ lawyers have demanded that Geoff “recant” and “rectify” his statements to the Argentine authorities.

Nores claims that Geoff’s “false” statements lead directly to his arrest and manslaughter charges against him.

The court order states: ‘The relevant false contents of Defendant Geoff’s two affidavits were and are the proximate cause of Plaintiff’s injuries and damages, including harm to Plaintiff’s reputation.

‘Defendant Geoff knew or should have known and could reasonably foresee that the relevant false contents of the two affidavits would be and were the proximate cause of plaintiff’s injuries and damages in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States and throughout the world in all aspects. ‘
