Designed by acclaimed Melbourne-based architecture studio SSdH, the planned two-storey pavilion-style home is a marvel of modern architecture, blending seamlessly into the hillside to minimize its environmental impact.

The layout features two open-plan living areas, a games room surrounding an internal courtyard and luxurious amenities such as a large cabana, terrace and nearly 18-metre pool.

Privacy and comfort are paramount, and all five bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms, plus a generously sized gym and sauna.

Critics and locals are quick to say that the reconstruction reminds them of a suburban shopping center, a renovated RSL club or a regional airport terminal.

It is estimated that the 50-meter rooftop infinity pool alone would have cost at least $400,000, a massive interior mural could be worth up to $100,000, and the landscaping bill would reach $500,000.

Older brother, Westworld star Luke, also took the keys to a $4.9 million beachfront home in Suffolk Park, not far from Chris’ property, in 2020.

The house was in a family trust run by Liam and Chris, and was purchased two years earlier for $4.3 million.
