LG has seen a sudden turnaround in its Indian business. After moving thousands of LG G8X units in a week, it has now launched its new top of the range LG Wing 5G in India as well. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
Launched globally last month, the LG Wing is part of the brand’s new Explorer series of smartphones looking to explore new form factors. Like many of its recent devices, this one also has two screens, but in a very unique orientation – the secondary screen appears when the first is turned away!
LG Wing Specifications and Features
The primary screen of the LG Wing is a 6.8-inch OLED panel with a Full HD + resolution and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Beneath it is the secondary 3.9-inch G-OLED display, resulting in a T-shaped design when opened. This one-and-a-half screen implementation enables new ways of multitasking, where one app can occupy the entire screen and have additional content on the other: YouTube + media controls, GPS + music, gaming + HUD, texting + full-screen keyboard, etc.
There are no holes or notches as the selfie camera is in a pop-up mechanism. Even with these moving parts, the entire package is IP54 certified for water resistance and MIL-STD 810G certification for fall protection. It is 10.9 mm thick and weighs 260 grams.
Internal specifications include a Snapdragon 765G chipset, 8 GB RAM and 128/256 GB storage. The storage can be further expanded with up to 2 TB via micro SD. The battery has a capacity of 4000 mAh and supports 25 W QuickCharge 4+ and 10 W wireless charging.
On the back of the LG Wing is a triple camera array consisting of a 64MP f / 1.8 primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide shooter followed by a secondary 12MP ultra-wide-angle videography lens. Selfies are handled by a 32 MP shooter.
