A source told MailOnline: ‘He met up with a group of friends in Dua Lipa and there were lots of hugs.

“He looked like he was having a great time, with his finger in the air and singing along. We were all listening. But after a couple of songs he left with all his friends.”

The Brit Award winner’s joyous sight comes exactly a year after he took to that same legendary stage.

In a very moving moment of his performance, Lewis had difficulty singing due to his Tourette’s symptoms, but the dedicated crowd of fans rallied to continue singing “Someone You Love” for him, marking a very remarkable moment.

At the time, Lewis was coming off a three-week mental health break to “rest and recover.”

Returning to the stage, Lewis admitted he had been too scared to perform as he spoke out about his mental health issues and confirmed he would be taking another break away from the spotlight after the show.

In the middle of his performance, Lewis confessed that he was struggling with his Tourette syndrome and said that his voice had recovered, after having been coughing throughout the show.

Despite his difficulties, Lewis insisted on continuing his performance and his fans supported him, and the show came to an emotional end when the crowd sang Someone You Love for him.

The touching moment saw Lewis walk across the Pyramid Stage and sing short snippets of the song, as the friendly crowd sang their hearts out in support of the star.

Many fans also took to Twitter after the show to send kind words to Lewis at the time, telling how excited crowds had been reduced to tears during the final song of his set.

They also insisted the Scottish singer had nothing to apologise for as they praised his “fantastic” show and praised him for finishing his performance despite his difficulties.

One fan wrote: ‘Blown away @LewisCapaldi at Glastonbury. Been coming here for years and it’s one of the best sets I’ve ever seen. Absolutely nothing to apologise for, everyone around me was CRYING at the end. Amazing.’

He then sang Hold Me While You Wait while playing guitar, and fans sang along to the lyrics at times when he had to temporarily stop singing.

Between tracks, the supportive crowds went wild and cheered him on, while he took a temporary hiatus and could be heard coughing as he struggled with his Tourette syndrome.

WHAT IS TOURETTE SYNDROME?

Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by a combination of noises and involuntary movements called tics.

It usually begins during childhood and continues into adulthood. Tics may be vocal, physical, or both.

In many cases, Tourette syndrome runs in families and is often associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) or attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Tourette syndrome is named after the French physician Georges Gilles de la Tourette, who first described the syndrome and its symptoms in the 19th century.

There is no cure for Tourette syndrome, but treatment can help control symptoms.

He then said: “Glastonbury, I’m so sorry, I’m a bit upset with myself here,” prompting the crowd to cheer him and chant his name in a sweet moment.

Lewis then closed the show with his big hit Someone You Love, as the crowd supported him by singing his song as he struggled to sing.

On stage, Lewis also confirmed that he would be taking another break away from the spotlight, telling fans they wouldn’t be seeing him “much” for the rest of the year.

He said: ‘I feel like I’ll have to take another little break in the next few weeks, you probably won’t see much of me for the rest of the year.’

Speaking about his three-week break, Lewis said: “I took three weeks off because I was on a non-stop tour at the beginning of the year and I wanted a break for my head and my mental health. I wanted to come back and do Glastonbury, because it’s amazing.”

“I was really scared, but you really made me feel at ease, I’m so sorry,” he continued.
