Levitex sleep expert goes viral on TikTok after revealing the one huge mistake people make at night

Sleep expert skipped and suggests ‘easy fix’ for the ‘biggest mistake’ people make in the bedroom

  • A posture expert has revealed why you should never sleep on your stomach
  • Sleep guru James Leichardt posted his sleeping position tips on TikTok
  • The video went viral, but many people found his ‘simple tips’ hard to follow

A sleep expert has been criticized online after revealing the biggest mistake people make when going to bed at night — and proposing an “easy fix” to fix the problem.

Posture expert James Leinhardt went viral on TikTok when he publicly condemned those who choose to sleep on their stomachs.

The expert, who is “obsessed with spinal health,” said the position puts undue pressure on the neck and spine, and putting your thigh in mid-sleep makes the situation worse.

Do you sleep on your stomach?

  • Yes, love it! 1 votes
  • No, I sleep on my side. 4 votes
  • Sometimes I just do what I like during the day! 0 votes

In the video, which has been viewed more than 2.9 million times, Mr. Leinhardt suggests adjusting your sleeping position to ensure your major joints are stacked over each other.

This eliminates any twisting in the spine, he explained, and is crucial for spinal health.

But not everyone was convinced by the ‘easy fix’ with many people calling it out for offering a completely new sleeping position instead of adjusting a comfortable sleeping position.

‘Such an easy solution?!? It’s a completely different position and not comfortable at all,” one person complained to the video.

While another offered, “I’d rather sleep in position one and risk the back pain.”

“I’ve been sleeping on my stomach for 17 years and have no back problems,” added another.

While others argued that the “first position” feels more natural, which “means it’s good,” and said people should just listen to their own bodies.

But some defended the posture expert.

“You have to listen to him. I slept in position one for a long time and now I have chronic back pain that makes me sad,” he said.

Others said they felt “overwhelmed” by the video.

“We have to stress all day, then that one rest and relaxation time that I now have to stress if I do it right,” complained one man.

Mr. Leinhardt’s website explains the different “bad” sleeping positions in depth and explains how each hurts the body in different ways.
