The mother of a three-year-old boy who drove his toy tractor into a river in Utah has said the family is “devastated” after an MRI revealed the results were “not good”, in a devastating update on the health of his son who almost drowned in the incident.

Levi Wright’s mother, Kallie Wright, jumped in to save him and rushed to the hospital where doctors restored his heartbeat. The young man, whose father is rodeo star Spencer Wright, remained unconscious for days as doctors warned the Wrights that Levi’s brain was too damaged for him to survive.

On Friday, his parents believed Levi had begun to show signs of progress with more tests scheduled to evaluate his brain function.

But on Friday afternoon, one of those tests gave a heartbreaking prognosis.

“The MRI was not good, we are devastated, but they are just images that suggest a certain quality of life,” Kallie wrote.

‘What will really tell us everything will be what Levi does over the course of a few days. Please keep praying! “I’m not giving up my baby yet,” she added.

‘I am working to get any and all neurologists or other trained professionals with experience in this area willing to look at your MRI. Then I’ll see what my strong boys will do in the next few days.’

On Thursday night, Kallie said Levi had woken up while in her hospital bed at Children’s Primary Hospital in Salt Lake City with her husband Spencer.

LEVI WOKE UP! I’m shocked, we don’t know much, but the doctor said it was okay for me to be emotional about it, and I AM! My baby is so tough!’ she wrote.

‘He got a little wild so we had to calm him down again, but my heart!’

However, Kallie later on Friday clarified that Levi was not “fully coherent” or speaking.

“He opened his eyes for a while, moving with purpose and less reflexively like before,” she wrote.

‘We still have a very long and tremendous road ahead, full of unknowns. ‘Spencer and I felt like he knew we were there and he could hear us.’

‘He’s been quite sedated since then, but he’s still had small periods of wakefulness. In fact, he woke up while we were talking to one of the doctors about his love of excavators and tractors.’

Kallie said she was singing Levi’s favorite digger songs and they talked about what they would do when he got out of the hospital.

Kallie’s husband is Spencer Wright and is among the most notable in rodeo history. Her father, Bill Wright, was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame.

Spencer is ranked 35th in the world, while his brothers are also renowned athletes in the sport.

As Levi drove toward the river, the 911 caller frantically told the dispatcher that they couldn’t see him under the swift currents.

Kallie realized he had slipped away and ran to the river, and jumped into the currents to save him, and her friend said that she “was the one who found him, she pulled him out.”

A large response from rescue crews from the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Highway Patrol, Beaver County Search and Rescue and Beaver Firefighters quickly arrived on scene.

Crews made life-saving efforts before an ambulance took him to Beaver County Hospital, and he was then flown by helicopter to Salt Lake City.

Spencer Wright, ranked 35th in the world rodeo rankings, and his family said the outpouring of support they have received “means a lot” to them.

“He wants to breathe, but his sweet little brain has been without oxygen for too long and there is no turning back,” the family said in their first update on Levi, explaining that the young man was not expected to survive.

‘We held him all night and felt strongly that his spirit was no longer with us.

“We can’t be selfish and drag this out for days, he doesn’t deserve this.”

‘We will soon stop worrying and keep him close until his last breath on earth. My baby, my beans, mom and dad love you always and forever!’
