Deaf/autistic athlete Kade West’s motivation, grit and determination, and his embrace of the sport of basketball with the heart of a champion, was absolutely moving and moving. The humanity of her endearing trainer, Russ May, was so admirable.
On the other hand, the idiotic incompetence of the California Community College Athletic Association. it was impressive and infuriating.

I applaud Mr. Plaschke for his astute article on Kade West playing for Cerritos College. Perhaps we need to redefine what a win really is and when a “loss” is worth it.
