Cyberpunk 2077’s biggest spy-thriller expansion, Phantom Liberty, will be released September 26th on Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
With the start of pre-orders for the Phantom Liberty expansion and content, the official Cyberpunk 2077 website has shared more details about the current system requirements update, in order to ensure players understand Cyberpunk 2077 system requirements better, in addition to facilitating the evaluation of the expected performance of the game.
These changes will take effect after the next update of the base game, no earlier than 90 days after the update, and will also apply to Phantom Liberty. New system requirements are designed to be more current, with support for new GPUs not available at launch, and 1080p or 4K resolution available for select in-game presets.
The minimum requirements changes are a reflection of our new standard of requirements which we believe better represents the minimum PC hardware settings required to run the game at 1080p, while maintaining an average of 30 frames per second when the low preset is selected. These changes are made because updating the requirements is an important part of improving, enhancing and adding new features to the game.
One of the changes is the ability to stop using HDDs when choosing a minimum requirement, with SSDs offering faster load times, improved streaming, and better overall performance when compared to HDDs.
It should be noted that this does not mean that the game will stop working on the previous minimum requirements. However, active support for it will cease after the next update of the base game, and we will also stop testing the game on those settings.
Please note that the FPS data provided is based on internal testing. Performance may vary depending on your computer and software settings and any changes made to individual graphics or resolution settings. Please see updated system requirements below.
