A young woman has bravely opened up about the moment her husband repeatedly stomped on her stomach, killing her unborn baby in a horrific attack that nearly took her life.

Leticia Chalmers, 21, was just 20 weeks pregnant when her partner Ahmed Karim attacked her at her home in western Sydney in September 2021.

Karim, who is a member of the notorious Alameddine criminal network, told his wife: ‘I want you and the baby to die.’

He pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily injury and aggravated sexual assault this month in the New South Wales District Court, giving Ms Chalmers the freedom to share her story for the first time after two years of agony.

The 21-year-old has visited the grave of her daughter, Adeya, every day.

Leticia Chalmers, 21, was just 20 weeks pregnant when her partner Ahmed Karim attacked her at her home in western Sydney in September 2021.

“I feel that Adeya deserves the recognition that comes with telling our story… and the crime that was committed also deserves to be known,” he said. The Daily Telegraph.

Ms. Chalmers and Karim met at school and began dating as teenagers.

She got pregnant in April 2021, but Karim was completely against her having a baby.

“Get rid of it,” he told her, according to court documents.

“Leticia, you will make my God curse me,” he told Ms Chalmers via text message. ‘I don’t care if he kills you. Even if it’s a fucking abortion.

In June of that year, Mrs Chalmers said she was willing to raise the baby alone, and in September she married Karim under Islamic law in an attempt to please him.

Karim pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily injury and aggravated sexual assault this month in the New South Wales District Court.

But Karim remained furious with his wife and before the baby’s gender reveal party on September 17, he asked Mrs. Chalmers to come.

He greeted her with a kiss on the cheek, but things quickly turned sour when the pair started arguing.

Karim circled Ms. Chalmers and grabbed her stomach before pulling her to the ground.

He then stomped on her stomach, put pressure on her with his knee, and strangled Mrs. Chalmers until she passed out.

Karim woke her up by pouring cold water on her head, but the violence was not over.

He repeatedly kicked her and told her that he wanted both Mrs. Chalmers and her daughter to die.

Ms. Chalmers was able to flee outside where a neighbor found her and called triple zero.

She gave birth to her daughter, but Adeya did not survive the attack.

“I feel like I’m living, but I’m not alive,” Ms Chalmers told the publication.

Her mother, Christie, still remembers the horror of seeing her daughter with a ‘deflated’ stomach.

“My daughter was not killed in the attack, but part of her was killed,” he said.

Christie and other loved ones of Mrs Chalmers visit Adeya’s grave regularly, leaving behind an array of colorful flowers.

Karim will be sentenced on October 17.
