Leroy Sané let out his anger in Bayern Munich’s 3-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday by removing a camera that was inside the goal from its stand.

The reigning Bundesliga champions suffered a blow in the title race as Xabi Alonso’s side established a five-point lead at the top of the table and maintained their unbeaten run.

Bayern missed the chance to overtake their title rivals as they fell to a heavy defeat that leaves Harry Kane’s chances of winning silverware against the German giants hanging by a thread.

Josip Stanisic, on loan at Leverkusen from Bayern, opened the scoring before Alex Grimaldo added the second early in the second half.

Bayern desperately searched for a goal to reduce the deficit in stoppage time and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer took a corner in the final minutes of the match.

The hosts cleared the set-piece to give Jeremie Frimpong the chance to shoot into an open goal and, after a marauding run, the 23-year-old finished from a tight angle with Sane stepping back to try and stop the shot.

The former Manchester City winger became enraged when the ball lodged in the back of the net and unleashed his anger by first kicking the ball before turning to attack the goal-mounted camera.

The camera that Sane hit fell to the ground and was twisted on its side.

The 28-year-old struggled to make an impact against a determined Leverkusen side.

Close-up footage shows Sane looking at the camera before raising his right fist, breaking the device from its frame and falling to the ground.

Sane endured a miserable afternoon against Leverkusen as he partnered Kane and Jamal Musiala in an attack that failed to generate any serious threat against the home defence.

The 28-year-old was not the only Bayern player to lose his temper after the humiliating defeat. Veteran striker Thomas Müller admitted that he was “upset” with his performance.

Team manager Thomas Tuchel also fumed as he questioned why on-loan star Stanisic was allowed to play against his parent club in the title clash.
