‘I had just gotten to the point where I could talk about the loss of Zion, my beautiful Doberman who passed away 2 years ago. It was only 2 weeks after Carmel was born, so it was very difficult to process the pain of losing him at that time.

‘Forrest and Zion were two of the most precious gifts and I am so grateful for every day I got to spend with them. My study buddies, my squirrel protectors, my cuddle buddies, my baby boys.

‘Life will never be the same without you, but I still feel you around me and I know you’re together, lying by a window under that little ray of sunshine you both loved so much.

‘Always grateful to have been your mother earth and thank you for opening my heart with your love.’

Fans rushed to the comments to share their condolences, including Michelle Visage and Callum Scott.

“Ohhhhhh honey, I’m so sorry, this hurts so much. Sending you lots of love, Lee. Pets are heaven on earth. I’m sorry for your loss.”

“I’m so sorry. People who don’t have dogs really don’t understand the love and bond we share with these beautiful creatures. Much love.”

“Two absolutely gorgeous dogs who brought so much love into the world. I will always cherish the special moments I spent with them both. Sending them all lots of love.”
