The fans’ decision to travel to the ground comes after the government relaxed their restrictions on Monday.

From now on, French citizens can travel more than 10 km (six miles) from their home and no longer need a valid reason to go out.

However, the national curfew remains in effect and limited travel between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

As for the match, Lille only needs three more wins to win Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 title, while Lens is looking for an upset.

Lens is currently fifth in the rankings, having recently suffered a 2-1 defeat by the leaders, PSG.

Tensions remain high for the game as Gael Kakuta admitted he would rather see PSG win the title than their bitter rivals Lille.

Kakuta says Lens is ‘focused’ on the job ahead and that they will try to stop Lille from taking the title.

He said in their pre-game press conference: ‘We’re focused on us, it’s just a bonus. We can strive to be higher, that’s what we’re going to try.

And if we can prevent Lille from winning the league title, that would be great too. I’d rather PSG become champion. ‘
